In after school club we have talked with the children and they planned an Italian theme for last week which is being continued on this week. Some of the activities we have participated in were making pictures with pasta, glue and paint exploring textures and being creative. Cooking lasagne and pizzas with the children which they went on to have for snack yum yum. We have painted the Italian flag and made some fantastic pastille pictures of the leaning tower of Pisa. We have also made the leaning tower of Pisa out of junk modelling working together as a team. The children have made pasta jewellery and constructed gondolas checking to see if they sink or float. We have made pictures of ice cream cones cutting and sticking as Italy invented the cone which we found out by exploring Italian facts on the iPad.

What a great time we are all having in holiday club, we have been busy with our theme "Under the Sea" making a variety of fish, treasure chest, octopus, jellyfish, coral and treasure maps to go on our wall display. We have enjoyed the great weather with lots of outdoor play, and water play. We have had a great time on our trip to Whickham Park, and our walk along the nature trail with a visit to see all the fish and reptiles at the local pet shop. Lots of new friends have been made with all children having fun contributing to their own planning each morning which is displayed on the board in the playroom for children/parents/carers to read.

We are having a great time in Pre School. these past two weeks, we have made our lovely wall display, painted our feet and turned them into tractors, The children have designed their own farm shop and have bought and sold real vegetables,, Leeks, Potatoes, tomatoes, Celery, Carrots, and real bread, except the bread did not last long as they preferred to eat it as soon as it was displayed. We have been planting onions, cucumbers and beans outdoors and the children are looking after these by watering them daily. Over the next week we will be growing cress, making our own healthy soup with our vegetables and making scones and jam for our farm cafe. We will walk to the duck pond and nature reserve and do a little litter picking with our new utensils. We receive £4 per bag and this is for our new friend we have sponsored from Africa.. A great big thank you to all the children for taking part in all our activities and ideas they have given us to keep this wonderful farm theme going. Any Parent/Carer wishing to contribute to our theme would be most appreciated Thank you Blaydon pre School staff
