Description

Blessed Angels Community Center is a Emergency Food Pantry for senior citizens, low income veterans, needy families in Bexar County, Texas and surrounding areas. Our goal is to help meet these needs by providing supplemental food assistance of fresh vegetables and healthy nutritious grocery products. Our collaborative partners are the San Antonio Food Bank, Daily Bread Ministries, and Alamo United Methodist Church. We purchase food from the San Antonio Food Bank thru a shared maintenance program. We use donated space from Daily Bread Ministries and Alamo United Methodist Church to store and distribute the food to senior citizens on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. We distribute food to veterans and needy families by appointment. The Director/CEO, Marion Thomas is not new to food distribution. She was Food Pantry Ministry Leader at her Church since 2007 and over the course of seven years was successfully responsible for distributing food to over 314,785 people in need. In January 2014 she retired to start nonprofit "Blessed Angels Community Center" and received 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in July 2014. Blessed Angels is operated by volunteers.
