Our latest blog: Earring length and style: Earring length and shape seems to be quite variable today. Which will look best on you? It really depends upon your face shape and hair length. Women with oval-shaped faces look good in almost every style of earrings. However, they can create a particularly striking look by wearing oval-shaped dangling earrings. These earrings will draw attention to the face's elegant shape without adding any width or length. Women with oval faces also look stunning when wearing teardrop earrings. Much like oval dangling earrings, these pieces accentuate the face's natural shape and create a sense of symmetry or balance. Women with round shaped faces look best in long angular styles. Dangle and teardrop styles are also great choices which help to elongate the face. Women with round faces can aim to elongate their faces and minimize a puffy appearance by choosing teardrop and dangle earrings. Look for those pieces that have long, angular designs as opposed to rounded designs. Most women with round faces should avoid dangling circular discs as these can make the face look wider. It is almost always best for women with round faces to choose earrings of a thin to medium width. When choosing earrings for heart-shaped faces, look for pieces with elongated lines and curves. Pieces with elongated curves will help to balance out the face and will draw attention to the eyes, cheekbones, and jaw line. Women with heart-shaped faces look particularly good in dangle, teardrop, and chandelier earrings. Choose chandelier earrings in diamond shapes to add an interesting contrast to the face. Elongated, dangling and hoop earrings are most flattering for square shaped faces. Earrings with rounded designs will soften the cheekbones and the jaw line. Women with square faces should choose earrings with rounded designs that soften the cheekbones and jaw line. The best choices are elongated, dangling pieces and hoop earrings. Those women who would like to add extra drama to their look can choose oversized hoops that brush the jaw line or extend below the jaw line. These hoops will both soften the face and make it appear smaller. Women with square faces should avoid wearing very wide earrings. Long dangle earrings tend to minimize the length of very narrow faces. Pearl earrings are ideal for narrow faces as they add softness and minimize length. Clustered pearl earrings that dangle far below the earlobe are a particularly good choice. Keep in mind that long dangle earrings tend to minimize the length of very narrow faces. Women with diamond-shaped faces should look for earrings with long, elegant curves. Both dangle and hoop styles accentuate this type of face. Choose earrings with soft curves to minimize any sharpness around the cheekbones or jaw line. Those individuals with diamond-shaped faces should avoid wearing dangle earrings that also feature a diamond shape, as they will make the lines of the face appear exaggerated and are not generally flattering. In general, if you have short hair that leaves your earlobes exposed, you can wear any earrings you choose. For long hair, the best choice is long dangling earrings or bright colors with sparkle and shine-you want them to show! However, if you are going to wear your hair up, your choices are endless.

We have been working with Goldstone. What is Goldstone, you ask? While not a stone, it is actually an interesting type of glass that appears to have flecks of gold within it. The flecks are actually crystals of elemental copper. Goldstone has been claimed to have metaphysical properties: Goldstone is said to help one stay calm and stabilize the emotions. It can be used as an energy generator and can deflect unwanted energies, making it used as a protection stone. It is also used for long distance healing and revitalizing one's energy field. Goldstone also has many of the metaphysical properties of copper, including in crystal healing lore the strengthening of the circulatory system, strengthening bones, and easing arthritis pain. Believe what you may, we just like the sparkle and glitter found within the glass. Goldstone is available in brown, blue, and green. Two stories circulate about the discovery of Goldstone: Italian Monk Story: Created by accident when an Italian monk dropped some copper shavings he was carrying. The shavings fell into a pan of molten glass. The monk was upset, as he thought the glass was ruined. Once the glass cooled, the embedded shavings shimmered like gold. The monks were overjoyed, as they proclaimed, 'We've invented Goldstone!' As tradition would have it, they invented brandy to celebrate! The Other Story: Some believe the manufacturing process was discovered in the 17th century in Venice by the Miotti family. They were granted an exclusive license by the Doge. The Doge was the Chief Magistrate of Venice, when Venice was a Republic. The last Doge abdicated upon Napoleon's conquest.

You may wonder why we use Swarovski crystals in the creation of our jewelry. Quite simply, we believe they are the best quality and offer the maximum sparkle and glitter--similar to, and often surpassing, that of fine gemstones. We use the current line of Swarovski Crystals known as Swarovski Elements. This is the brand for high quality crystal elements by Swarovski and designers and manufacturers from all over the world use this brand. Swarovski Elements Crystals are known for their superior brilliance and fire. Every Swarovski crystal bead, pendant, and component is precision-cut, offering brilliant faceting and sparkling light refraction. Swarovski uses their highly advanced crystal-cutting technology to ensure that all of their products include smooth lines, perfect faceting and a flawless finish. The immaculate faceting and innovative cuts provide an exceptional number of reflective surfaces. They provide the widest range of colors, effects, bead shapes and components available on the market today and Swarovski ensures that all of their products are of the highest caliber. Since the early 20th century, Swarovski crystal beads have played a key role in designer jewelry and are used because their complex yet flawless faceting refracts light and sparkles like no other crystal on the market. In the late 1800’s, Daniel Swarovski discovered a formula for making beautiful, hiqh quality lead glass crystals. Since then, the Swarovski family has continued the tradition of making the most recognized crystals in the world that are known for their brilliance and value. Superior production, materials, cutting, and polishing are what set Swarovski crystals apart from other glass works and Swarovski maintains the highest standards of crystal design. In September 2012, Swarovski adopted their new ADVANCED CRYSTAL standard – a new, innovative, basically lead-free crystal composition, which complies with current laws and regulations governing the use of certain substances in finished products.
