Owner, Nita Frederick, grew up the daughter of an academic who conducted social science research overseas and a travel agent who was an avid, if not addicted, traveler. She has lived and traveled all over the world, but recently relocated to Lexington to make this lovely city her home. She chose Lexington because of its southern hospitality and historic charm…and she says "it just felt like home when I pulled into town." Nita started Bluegrass Vacation Rentals as one way to participate in the burgeoning urban revitalization of historic downtown and to share her enthusiasm for her new home with other avid travelers. "One of the terrific things about Lexington and Lexingtonians is the small town feel and their hospitality. Within the historic downtown area you can walk to all kinds of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops and you will undoubtedly run into someone who will strike up a conversation with you, make you feel right at home, give you restaurant recommendations, directions, suggestions on what you should see or do while you are here, or tell you a story about living in Lexington.
