What is Book Arts? It is a medium in which the artist presses upon the boundaries of what is considered to be a book. The Book Artist uses both tradition and non-traditional means to express concepts, thoughts, feelings or stories. Book Arts, as a discipline, brings together 2 and 3-D visual artists, graphic designers, writers, paper and print makers, book binders, and people who have a story to tell. Simply put, Books Arts is "the combination of word, image and structure" (Sibyl Rubottom) into an artifact which illuminates a concept or provokes thought or emotion in the viewer. Join me as I explore ideas surrounding book arts, share my process and find inspiration.
