The School of Theatre in the College of Fine Arts at Boston University was established in 1954 as one of the country's leading institutions for the study of acting, stage management, design, production, and all aspects of the theatrical profession.

SOT and the Boston University School of Music Opera Institute will collaborate on two opera productions at the BU Theatre in Spring 2015: Peter Eötvös’s ANGELS IN AMERICA (based on the Tony Kushner play) and Massenet’s CENDRILLON (you may know her better as Cinderella)!
AND more 14-15 season news for your Fridays: Judy Braha, Paula Langton, and Mark Cohen are slated to appear in Margaret Edson’s WIT this February, produced by BCAP (Boston Center for American Performance) in the Roberts Theatre at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA

SOT's 2014-2015 Season will feature EIGHT (count 'em) “BU New Play Initiative” productions by Ben Ducoff, Danny Bryck, Michael Hammond, and our third-year MFA Playwriting candidates (Stephanie Brownell, William Carter, Danyele Brickner, Abbey Fenbert, and Phil Schroeder) – in collaboration with Boston Playwrights' Theatre and BU Graduate School of Arts & Sciences!
But wait! There's more: rounding out our first quarter of 14-15 productions, SOT will perform Eve Ensler’s THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, Sophie Treadwell’s MACHINAL, Femina Shakes’ HENRY IV, Part 1, and Lorca’s THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA!
Wednesday 14-15 season announcement time: this December, Adrienne Boris will direct IN THE NEXT ROOM, OR THE VIBRATOR PLAY as her MFA Directing thesis! And for his MFA Directing thesis, Thomas Martin will direct THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN in April 2015!
