We are a non-profit family recreational facility that provides activities for children and youth whenever school is out. Our program services are planned to provide fun with a purpose where children and youth enjoy a safe place of their own. Many of our members get involved and benefit from the development opportunities, working to build leadership skills and gain practical work experience. The Club offers hope, inspiration and opportunities to help people reach their full potential. By promoting physical health, mental health and emotional well-being, our programs help young people succeed in school, form positive relationships and mature into healthy, responsible and caring adults. We are committed to helping children and youth reach their full potential. All Club programs utilize a variety of in-house facilities including: • Two swimming pools • Gymnasium • Ball room • Imagination Playground • Computer room • Homework help room • Games room • Craft room • Activity rooms • Club House Café • Teen Zone During the week throughout the school year we offer free bussing for children to the Club, from various locations throughout the City. A nightly Supper Club program offers children and youth nutritious meals at a cost of just $2. We also offer swimming lessons throughout the year. During the summer and school holidays, many fun-filled day camps are offered. The children enjoy a full day of scheduled activities that may include swimming, gym games, crafts and out-trips. The Club's extended family has grown to include over 1,400 Senior Citizens aged 55 years and up. The adult programs run during the day time when the children are in school. The Horton Street Seniors' Centre (HSSC) operates in the Boys and Girls Club and offers: • Aquatics programs • Fitness programs • Many social recreational activities The Boys and Girls Club of London has operated its own transportation service since 1987. Its fleet of more than 20 wheelchair accessible vans and buses is an important part of the Club’s operations for all its programming. The seniors’ transit program operates in the earlier part of the day providing door-to-door service at a nominal fee for seniors with the Horton Street Seniors’ Centre, the McCormick Home, Dearness Home, and Salvation Army Village day program. Later in the day, the transit program offers free transportation for children and youth from 23 neighbourhoods to and from the Club.
