Seeking Mentors! In the fall of 2014 we will be delivering an exciting and innovative education program called Rogers Raising the Grade at our new Central Saanich Club. This program provides youth in grades 8 to 12 the opportunity to find the tools and supports they need to improve in school, explore personal interests and passions, and to connect with tutors, mentors, and friends all while enhancing their digital literacy in the Rogers Technology Centre. This Tech Centre will provide youth with a designated room containing state-of-the art computers, high-speed Internet access and cutting-edge open software to best support their learning and interests. Parents in Esquimalt, VicWest, Langford and Central Saanich know firsthand about the excellent after-school programs that Boys & Girls Clubs offer. Well this September parents in Colwood will have the same opportunity! We are launching a new after-school program for children 5-12 at 345 Wale Road (Children’s Health Foundation’s Child, Youth & Family Centre). Programs run Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. We are moving! On Tuesday, August 19, 2014 we will be moving into our new home at 301 - 1195 Esquimalt Road, Victoria BC, V9A 3N6. Teachers’ Strike Camp Monday May 26/14 In response to the BC Teachers Federation job action and the rotating strike, Millstream Boys & Girls Club will be holding a ‘Teachers’ Strike Camp’ on Monday May 26, 2014. Cost $25/pr child, includes transportation, admissions & afternoon snack. One is designed specifically for Greater Victoria Community Professionals who work with youth and their families (Social Media & Youth: For People Who Care - for Greater Victoria Youth-focused Community Professionals.
