Bridger’s Bottle Shop is the newest addition to the exploding, locally owned, bar and restaurant scene, in the historic Westport neighborhood. Recently opened in the highly anticipated, newly remodeled, 510 Westport Road location, Bridger’s Bottle Shop (www.bridgersbottleshop) was developed by Kansas City natives Eric Flanagan, Aaron Beatty, and Philip Thies. The rustic interior with an homage to Jim Bridger, will feature over 600+ bottled craft beers in two large 8 door beer coolers, along with multiple rotating seasonal taps. Not only does Bridger’s Bottle Shop have the most extensive beer selection in Kansas City, it also hosts one of the hottest food concepts in the metro area. In an exciting collaboration between Bridger’s Bottle Shop and the Local Pig, Chef Alex Pope will open the Local Pig’s, ‘Preservation Market’, within the bottle shop. ‘Preservation Market’ will celebrate preserved foods of all kinds with an emphasis on pickled vegetables, farmhouse and imported cheeses, and of course, Local Pig meats and charcuterie. Lunch will focus on chef-driven sandwiches and salads. Evenings will see a selection of boards and snacks featuring local artisan breads along with the pantry of Local Pig meats, craft cheeses and house-made pickled vegetables. Regular beer dinners will be hosted by Chef Alex Pope, Executive Chef Andrew Heimburger, along with General Manager and Certified Cicerone Erica Pyles. These events will celebrate creative seasonal cuisine and special beers from the bottle shop. Bridger’s Bottle Shop is a different concept than your average brew pub or bar. A hybrid that is ½ Bar and ½ Beer Store, guests are inclined to peruse the 600+ beers at their own pace, organized by style and taste within Bridger’s massive coolers. Need help? One of Bridger’s Certified Beer Servers will guide you in expanding your beer knowledge while sampling some new exciting brews.
