Description

Bridges To Life (BTL) is a restorative justice program that connects communities to prisons to reduce recidivism, enhance public safety, and save millions of taxpayer dollars. BTL empowers victims and rehabilitates inmates by showing offenders the impact of their actions. Over 25,500 offenders have graduated from the program and thousands of lives have been positively impacted. Recent studies indicate a 14% recidivism rate for BTL graduates compared to the national average of 38-40%. In 2015, BTL has scheduled 125 projects in 65 prisons. With the help of over 550 volunteers, 4,600 inmates will graduate at a cost below $230 each.
