IMPORTANT AGM INFORMATION At the AGM we will be voting for the committee members as per the constitution of the club. The main committee positions are as follows: Chairman (currently Richard Harrison) Secretary (currently Owen Millar) Treasurer (currently Jonathan McKee) For any member wishing to fill any of the above position, you must email the club at firstname.lastname@example.org on or before February 4th 2015 (as per the constitution). Your nomination must be seconded by another club member at the time of nomination thus include this persons name in the email. Should you wish to nominate in another manner, please message us and and we will sort that out for you. The positions do not take up a lot of time and are very worthwhile going forward as the club grows from strength to strength. If you're keen then have no hesitation in putting yourself forward. We encourage everyone to take a more active role in the club in the future. All of this will be followed up in a members email, including a copy of the constitution. Questions are encouraged. Cheers guys Onwards and upwards Brisbane NISC

I'd (Owen) just like to send my message of support to the premier academic and sporting institution in Northern Ireland for their Schools Cup game this morning back home. Get wired into them Dalradians Bangor Grammar.
Anyone up at this ungodly hour on a Saturday morning. Cambridge v Man United in the FA cup is on ESPN at present. In midfield for Cambridge is Can McGeehan who plays for Norwich but is on loan at Cambridge. He also plays for Northern Ireland U21s. Really is one to watch and could certainly be a shining light in our midfield for years to come if he keeps developing as he is. Was bought by Chelsea as an 11 year old for 80 grand as far as I'm aware but then moved to Fulham and then Norwich where he captained their youth cup winning team last year or the year before. Anyhow someone to keep an eye on. Has played well so far against weak opposition!! Owen
Up early this morning and they're showing a rerun of the England - Cameroon world cup quarter final from Italia 90 on foxtel. Great match but the most noticeable thing is that Roger Milla seriously looks (and must be) about 40 years old!! Remember there was some debate about him fudging his age after the tournament where he said he was late 20s or something but there's nay chance. I think he actually played in 2 more world cups after 1990 too. Must've been about 50 at that stage!!! Fair play to him. Owen
G'day folks, Just another massive thank you to our hosts at The Ulster Arms (Ricci and Donna), for the last BNISC club night !! An excellent night/morning/day was had by all, and a result from the boys in green that we can't poke a stick at either !! Unfortunately this epic event now sets the bar even higher for our next !! ... but what shall it be ?? Alot of excellent ideas were discussed that evening, so we have decided to ask for your opinions (lets keep it clean) !! Ideas involving couples and kids encouraged, cant all be piss ups !! Can they ?? Answers on a postcard ....... actually - just post below ..... From your good friends @ the #1 NISC in Australia . BrisbaneNISC. GAWA
Awrite muckers, with only a few days until the Brisbane NISC gather in record numbers for the crucial Norn Iron v Romania Euro Qualifier it's time to wind up the banterage levels. Post photos of your favourite NI celebs, preferably non football celebs unless you are actually in the pic.
Bit of an out of the box post here but one of the reasons for starting the Brisbane NISC was to help foster the unique spirit that Our Wee Country can muster and help us keep that special feeling of being an Ulsterman. Earlier today we received the sad news that one of the teachers who taught quite a few of our BNISC members during the 80's and 90's at Gransha Boys High in Bangor had passed away. Ronnie Black RIP was one of those teachers who inspired his pupils during a difficult time in our history. As many others have said today he actually cared for his pupils. Two memories that stand out from those school days was him encouraging my mates to bring their guitars in so that he could jam with them at lunchtime and then the first time I ever played on stage infront of an audience he was there before and after to give us words of support. Thanks Ronnie
We've had a kind offer of a place to watch the game against Hungary on Sunday night/Monday morning at 2am (it's a late one!!). It's out on the south side of Brisbane in Rochdale. Can anyone who's keen please post here so we can see if it's a runner and this organise.
Anyone around Melbourne Alert!!!!! The Melbourne NISC are having their first official meeting this Saturday at the Mitre Tavern. Fire drink is 6.30pm. We obviously expect anyone who reads this and is n Melbourne to be there.. GAWA
Off for a Pastie supper down (our unnofficial home) O' Connors Fish and Chips on Lutwyche Road in Windsor if anyone is keen for a taste of home... Or if you are simply a fat bastard. I'll be down about half 1 if you fit any of the above categories... Owen
Rory bags his 4th major championship with the USPGA in the bag this morning. Putting our wee country on the map once again. Well done Rory.
The club would like to congratulate long time member Mark McArthur and his wife, Fiona, on receiving Australian citizenship today. As a gesture of goodwill, Mark will be shouting the first round atbthe Christmas do. Thanks Mark and congratulations again.
