It’s time to end youth homelessness. Did you know that 42% of the homelessness population is under the age of 25 in Australia. That’s more than 26,000 young people aged 12-25 who won’t have a place to call home tonight. Support Youth Homelessness Matters Day - 15 April 2015. Extra support for young people during G20 In response to this weekend’s G20 event, BYS will deliver an additional service to young people in partnership with the 139 Club. BYS will provide a triage service for young people aged 12 – 25: When: Friday 14 November and Saturday 15 November 2014 Where: 139 Club at 505 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley 139 Club is a designated respite space for vulnerable people during the G20 weekend. We assist homeless young people and young families to find and maintain safe, stable accommodation and to develop the skills needed to maintain their own property.
The Medical Clinic is situated at the HUB, 42 McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley.
It is a free, confidential service supporting young people with physical and mental health issues.
Brisbane Youth Service offers emergency relief services to help young people address immediate basic needs in times of crisis.
Emergency relief can act as a safety net for young people experiencing homelessness who have limited means or resources at their disposal.
It is sometimes difficult for vulnerable young people to understand and negotiate with government and other institutions.
Brisbane Youth Service supports young people in a range of ways by advocating for their needs with landlords, the Department of Housing, the Department of Education, Queensland Health, tertiary institutions, and Centrelink.
Many of our young clients are parents and have accompanying children.
Our specialised staff provide innovative support and a positive approach to parenting.
The Young Women's team offers young women the opportunity to meet with a team of dedicated women’s workers in a safe women’s space.
