General Info

We aim through this Face book group to make contact globally with as many like minded naturists as possible. We want to provide a forum where people can share links to naturist events and good naturist experiences at home and abroad. We invite you to make “friends” with each other and post web links to appropriate sites. Share information on reputable naturist beaches and naturist holidays and use this group to link with like minded people all around the world. BGHS believes that through communication naturists have the ability to bring understanding of our lifestyle choices to the “textile” world…….and maybe even convert a few too Do not post anything of an explicit nature either photograph or text as this will exclude you from the group permanently. Hello one and all. Just a quick update! The pool has been successfully stripped, rebuilt and tiled. We are just giving it a few days for the grout etc. to fully cure and then we shall be refilling it around Thursday or Friday. The aim is to have it back up and running by the weekend albeit likely to be quiet cold. Thanks again for your patience whilst we did this work. See you soon. Angie BGHS

Happy New year to you all! I hope you are sufficiently rested and recuperated and feel ready to tackle 2015!!! Wow we've been busy since new year! Good to see you all! There's been a great vibe here recently, long may it continue! I'm in the process of writing the newsletter but there has been so much going on I thought I'd just quickly jot a few words down to wish you a good start to the year and remind you that we are closing the pool for approximately a week possibly a week and a half, starting 26th January. I won't bore you with the details of what we're going to do and why but it is essential work that needs to be done and we feel this is the best time to do it. We will be temporarily converting the large hot tub into a plunge pool and all other facilities will be on and working throughout this time unless there are unforeseen circumstances which we will notify you of asap. I will keep you informed of the progress as we go and we will endeavour to keep all disruption down to an absolute minimum, however I do apologise in advance for the inconvenience it may cause. Feel free to email me or call our reception if you have any questions about how the week will be affected. Take care and see you soon! Angie BGHS

Seems to be a lot of people needing a little escapism today! We're getting busy already and it's a lovely atmosphere. Even those not celebrating Christmas seem to be enjoying the extra day off! There is a little buzz of excitement about the next few days! Can I say on behalf of all our staff Thank you very much for the wonderful gifts and cards you have given us, it's very generous and means a lot to them to feel appreciated. Just want to remind you, we will be closed tomorrow, Christmas day and boxing day but back open as normal on Saturday 27th! We're open till 10.30pm tonight so hopefully I will get to see some more of you before then but if not, may I just take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Christmas however you wish to celebrate or ignore it!! Have fun! Angie

December 2014 Newsletter The Ice rink is back and the twinkly lights are up, the music is repetitively cheery and the adverts are making me cry, (damn penguin!) it can only mean one thing! Christmas time!!! I am particularly looking forward to it this year. Mainly because I have two little ones who are enchanted by the magic of it all and the buzz in the air, but I’m also looking forward to some well-deserved family time off. BGHS closes just 5 days a year over Christmas and New Year, (see end of newsletter for details) and since we are a family run business this means that these are the only days we can all get together and relax and have fun without one of us being at work so we all look forward to it a lot. 2014 has been a great year for us! It has truly been a pleasure to see most of you gorgeous regulars! We have also welcomed so many newbies to our world this year which has kept the staff fit with all those guided tours!! Lol! So on to BGHS news: I’ll start with a little boasting but it should be reassuring for you as well. I’m pleased to say that we recently had our annual inspection from the environmental health and as expected we passed with flying colours. Same goes for the recent independent water quality tests that we have. All pools have passed in the extremely satisfied category. Thank you to all the supportive reviewers on Trip advisor. Those of you that have read my previous newsletters will know of the Trip advisor saga! To summarise: We can pretty much pin point to a high degree of accuracy exactly when a bad review will appear. It normally happens about 24 hours after we have asked someone to leave for antisocial behaviour and breaking the rules and the review they leave generally has little or no truth in it. However, Trip Ads free speech policy doesn’t really include a truth policy so when I right my reply telling the facts they delete them as it doesn’t fit in with their policy on right to reply. Go figure the logic in their company!! Anyway… thanks to our wonderful loyal and happy customers, we have majority happy customer reviews and so we feel very honoured that you took the time out to support us. Cheers! Now onto some parking news! Brighton Council are having some free car parking days at some of the city’s car parks leading up to Christmas. It is worth checking the council website to get the finer details on which days and which car parks are participating. You can then make the most of them by doing a little shopping and then escaping the madness by coming to us for a relaxing, unwinding chill out or just skip the shopping and escape here for the day, we won’t tell!! Whilst I’m on the subject of parking. I noticed today that near the Gas works at the bottom of Bristol Gardens on Marina way they are advertising all day parking for just £5. It’s a short walk from us and maybe easier than having to keep an eye out for the time the meter runs out. Maintenance news! Now… I know some of you have noticed a “few” tiles missing from the bottom of the pool again. This was as you may remember only worked on recently. We tried to use a new product which should have meant less curing time and a quicker job turnover but for some reason it didn’t work and the tiles have begun to come up again. This means that we will have to start all over again. Ufff! We’re going to go back to the old products and although they are harder to work with and take longer to cure, they should stop us from having to do this again for a while. Work should be starting on 26th January 2015 for approx. a week, if all goes to plan. During this time we will convert the large hot tub into a plunge pool as I know from last time this was a popular move. We have also recently changing over one of the showers to a newer more powerful model, which we are just testing for a while before converting the remaining ones over. So far it has been positively received which is encouraging. At the beginning of December we are having new flooring installed in the changing area, massage room and entrance lobby. So look out for the new look, hope you like it. We will also be replacing the sofas in the main lounge area at the beginning of next year. Plans are now being discussed for the redesign of the first rest room as you enter the area. This will start at the beginning of next year too alongside some renovating of the mirror room walls with an exciting new finish. About a month ago we took our website and forum pages offline at short notice in order to deal with a new generation of hacking robots that were knocking at the door of our website. Whilst those problems were resolved we took the opportunity to upgrade some software and generally change some rather techy things over to other techy things. As you can probably gather it wasn’t me that did it!! Anyway… it so happens that one techy thing didn’t quite go to plan and we hadn’t been receiving notifications from some of you trying to join our forum pages. This has now been resolved and we have hopefully gone back through the list of requests and activated those accounts. If you were one of those people trying to join with no success try again now and you should be ok. If not then you can always email me directly at the main contact BGHS email. If you have seen the forum recently you’ll notice the backdrop has changed. This is also only temporary and will hopefully soon be black and gold again. Rest assured though it is working as normal, just looks a bit different for now. So this brings me to the final part of this Newsletter and a reminder of those Christmas dates…. We will be closing this year on the same days as normal which are as follows: Wednesday 24th December 2014 Thursday 25th December 2014 Friday 26th December 2014 & Wednesday 31st December 2014 Thursday 1st January 2015 All other days we will be open as normal and look forward to spending them with you! We are normally fairly busy on the open days so if you wanted to book yourself in for a Pre-Christmas / post party massage then I suggest you book early as spaces are limited. We also have gift vouchers available to buy this Christmas for anyone wanting to treat someone to a day of tranquil relaxation and escapism. This can be for massage or entrance fee or both. All you need to do is contact our reception if you wish to buy them direct or we can send them to you if you contact us via email. Oh yes …. there will be mince pies again this year and possibly Santa hats as usual, so come in and visit us and claim your lovingly baked yule time freebie! We promise not to play any Slade, Pogues or Cliff!! Also look out for my Selfridges inspired window display new for 2014! So this just leaves me with one very last thing and that is, on behalf of all of us here at BGHS we would like to thank you for spending so much of 2014 with us and we wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Joyful New Year and we hope we can spend more time with you wet and warm in the world of BGHS in 2015. Take care of yourselves and we shall see you soon. Angie x

BGHS Autumn Newsletter Wow! What a summer that was! The driest September since records began in 1910 and August the eighth wettest on record. Although now the season has turned BGHS still managed to have all the beds out on the sundeck full on October 3rd! BGHS has been booming all summer. With the fabulous weather bringing people to Brighton on “Staycations” it has bought us Newbies on a daily basis coming in to check us out for their winter month retreat. Luckily for us on the coast there is always a breeze, so even on those days when it was windy but the skies were blue we have been full of people using the suntrap of our sundeck…………quite a lot of people seem to have had extended lunch breaks these last few months LOL. Brighton as a town has been buzzing with amazing events this summer, the fabulous Brighton Pride, The Colour Run, Speed Trials, Ace Café Reunion and the seventh stage of the Tour of Britain cycle race. Check out the Visit Brighton website to see what events are coming up then maybe you could make an extended visit to this vibrant city and combine it with the relaxation of a visit to BGHS. Updates on our team are that Katerina has now completed her maternity leave and has decided that there are to be more little Kats in the future so sadly she won’t be returning to us. We wish her well Time flies as we all know but the development of children is always a feel good way to see time passing! Lucka`s little girl is just starting nursery; Angies son, my gorgeous Nephew is just starting pre-school and Angies daughter, my beautiful Niece has just turned one!! So BGHS has achieved over the last few months a refurbished stock and staff area; and a redefined Managers area. The last fish hung on to the bitter end, coming back to life three times and then was ceremoniously flushed when confirmed no more! The tank is now temporarily filled; to squash various rumours it will not be filled with snakes or spiders and it’s not Cyd’s new play pen! We have some big plans for that space but we are holding off for the minute to build up reserves, mainly in energy BGHS has also upgraded the small steam room generator and renewed all the pipe work from 15mm to 22mm. This means we can now create an incredible head of steam at the same set temperature. We have a second generator waiting to create the same effect in the large steam room. This will all be completed out of business hours in the upcoming months. The solarium is freshly decorated with a blue marbleised ceiling and crisp white walls. This has all been done in materials that are designed to withstand the enveloping heat and humidity that fills BGHS. In the next few months we intend to refurbish the showers with new heads and controls; continue refurbishing the laundry area and staff areas and then towards late winter early spring we will re-tile the pool and start redesigning another rest room. What we guarantee you is that our aim is to constantly reinvest in BGHS, to keep it to the exceptional standards we have achieved, standards we are so very proud of. We want you to enjoy your valuable relaxation time with us in style. We are the Uk`s Premier Naturist Health Spa. So as we head into deepest darkest winter, with short days and cold weather, it’s nothing to be down about, it just brings us all together We hope to continue to spend the upcoming months warm and wet with you. Autumn salutations to you all…………I’ll leave the Ho Ho Ho to a later update! Sam BGHS

Hi everyone :) Just to let you know that Bristol Gardens, the road, not us :) is going to be closed at the junction with Manor Road (this is the top end of the road) from the 6th October 2014 for up to three weeks. They are laying new sewer pipes into the development on the corner of Bristol Gardens and Manor Road, so it is the road that is closed but there is still pedestrian access from that end. If you are driving to BGHS you can enter Bristol Gardens from the junction at Bristol Place and Arundel Road. See you all soon. BGHS

BGHS SUMMER NEWSLETTER Hey Hey everyone :) Sam’s back in the house doing the BGHS newsletter! Happy Summer solstice to you all! Or should I say Happy Litha to you all! (Its Neopagean name:)). For those of you that like a fact….. The summer solstice occurs when the tilt of a planet's semi-axis, in either the northern or the southern hemisphere, is most inclined toward the star (sun) that it orbits. Earth's maximum axial tilt toward the sun is 23° 26'. For those with a little hippie inside of them …… Pagans are in awe of the incredible strength of the sun and the divine powers that create life. For Pagans this spoke in the Wheel of the Year is a significant point. The Goddess took over the earth from the horned God at the beginning of spring and she is now at the height of her power and fertility. For some Pagans the Summer Solstice marks the marriage of the God and Goddess and they see their union as the force that creates the harvest's fruits. But no religion is left out it’s a multi faith day of importance! The Celts celebrated with bonfires that would add to the sun's energy, Christians placed the feast of St John the Baptist towards the end of June and it is also the festival of Li, the Chinese Goddess of light. So all in all it’s a jolly good season to be in for the human spirit! Its seems only moments away that we were all knee deep in rain water and now we are half way through the year already………but what a year it’s been so far! Business is booming and we started keeping track on how many guided tours we do for Newbies every day and they make for great reading :) welcome to The World of BGHS all of you who have found us recently. Wherever the word has got out it’s the right place as 99% of the new people we have met recently are meant to be with us the other 1% make for many hilarious stories but as I don’t want to get sued they won’t be told here ;) So the world is crazy fast at BGHS as I'm sure it is with all of you to, I refuse to acknowledge it’s an age thing by saying “where does the time go!” .But in all honesty this world is fast now with your mobile phone strapped to you with its text, wifi, internet, email pings and dings and vibrates reaching you on a 24/7 basis. So BGHS has become a haven for some of you to lock that outside world away in your locker for a few hours to save your sanity. I'm thinking BGHS really should be prescribed by the NHS! Lol! Off the back of this and my inability to clone myself to keep up with everything I need to do at work the Newsletter is now going to be defined by the planets and will be updated on a seasonal basis rather than monthly. If you want to hear the latest update of the moment before it goes out in a Newsletter come and visit us and have a chat …….you might even be around at a time when I'm holding “cup of tea and chocky finger meeting” in my office ….otherwise known as the TV room Lol. So plans already under way for this season at BGHS are the solarium ceiling which is being done in a beautiful blue marble in the next few weeks. I should have known by now that no wallpaper could with stand the high humidity within BGHS so although our sky ceiling in the solarium is really beautiful I need to re do it in a material that can cope with the conditions. So no worries you can still lie back and look at the blue sky on a cloudy rainy day but for a few days at the end of June it might look a bit like a “work in progress” but it’s all being done outside opening hours so nothing will disrupt your relaxation. The next two areas of projects are places you can’t see as they are our staff areas. As we have grown and expanded our fabulous team have needed more space and certain other requirements to be able to run the building as efficiently as they do. So right now my office if full of boxes and bits and pieces that will be made into a beautiful staff area that can accommodate their needs. I’ll leave it at that for now otherwise I’ll start rambling over how excited I am to find magnetic paint! Those of you that aren't Newbies will know I'm on first name terms in B&Q, Screwfix, Argos, Dockerills, Brewers etc. ………oh the glamour !!! :) The other project coming up over the summer is the soon to be ex fish tank! This will make you laugh for all of you who have kept count of the fish “demises” when Angie has been on holiday and I have been left in charge of them………… I believe that due to an early childhood experience of watching Jaws and being petrified I have managed to emit a death ray to fish! I get near them and then a few moments later they seem to be swimming upside down! So off this “talent” I am turning the fish tank into a Terrarium ….but obviously with a little artistic twist ……….watch this space …….actually watch the space where the fish tank was! Lol On that note I bid you all adieu on the Newsletter page for a few months. We look forward to seeing you all soon and spending the next few months warm and wet with you. Have a great summer and see you on the other side of this season :) Sam BGHS

Hello to you all. Just about managed to get a newsletter to you before it turns into June!! :0) This will be my last newsletter for now as I am handing over the privilege to Sam for a little while. As regular readers to my newsletter will know, they have been arriving increasingly late in the month due to a heavy work load and a demanding family life. I have 2 gorgeous children, one of which has yet to find the art of sleeping and the other has yet to believe that silence is golden and a full time job here running the spa. The result is little sleep and even less spare time. So something had to give and I'm afraid it is this. So to make sure you don't miss out on any BGHS news, Sam has kindly offered to take the role on and looks forward to keeping you all up to date with the comings and goings in the world of BGHS. I will still be here at work and on the forum and Facebook so I'm not disappearing, just reallocating. :0) In the meantime... I hope to see lots of you over this bank holiday weekend. We will be open as normal throughout, so just pop along anytime. The sauna is hot, the steam room steamy, the Jacuzzi bubbly and the hot tubs swirly so come and unwind and escape for a little while. The sundeck will be open and the sky may even show a little blue so come and hide from the chilly wind and feel smug that you haven't got stones sticking in your back and you don't have to brave the freezing cold sea every time you need to cool down or have a ........... you know. That wasn't the word I wanted to end my last newsletter on, so you'll have to fill in the blanks yourself! ha ha! Well... for now that is it. Thank you for reading my updates and even better liking them on Facebook Take care of yourselves and I look forward to catching up with you all soon at BGHS. Angie x

We are always getting emails from people asking what accommodation is near us so they can make a weekend of it or just simply not have to drive home after a relaxing evening. The trouble is that being a local resident myself, I've not needed to stay anywhere nearby so can never give a true insight in to what places are like. I can point people to hundreds of places that are easily accessible but I'd like to be more specific when answering and make sure our customers get to stay somewhere that will give them good memories of the city and their visit to BGHS. So I was wondering if anyone out there in Facebook land can help me out. I'm trying to compile a list of places to recommend. Have you stayed nearby? What was it like? Do you know anyone who owns or runs a hotel, B&B etc. that would like to be on our list. If you do can you let me know as I'd love to do more than just point people in the direction of the Brighton tourist site. Thanks Angie

March already! Anyone seen February I think I missed it!!! I apologise for the lack of February’s Newsletter. It’s still in the draft box but unfortunately it never made it any further than that. My excuses are plentiful and largely evolve around working with 2 small children! Well…. Having 2 small children and trying to work, not actually working with them or insinuating that anyone I work with resembles a small child….. moving on swiftly. The point I’m trying to make is life has been busy. We have though as always, been working hard at BGHS, improving and maintaining the standards you all expect from us. Those of you who have had a massage recently will have seen the new flooring in this room, which has made it a warmer and more relaxing space to retreat to. If you haven’t had a massage at BGHS yet then I strongly suggest you put it on your must do list for 2014. See us for more details or look at the massage section on our website for what to expect and what to do. We’ve had some lovely new people in recently, every day we do a number of guided tours around the building showing all the newbies what’s what and where’s where and introducing them to our secret haven of relaxation. It’s quite common to guide a slightly nervous looking person or couple around the building, reassuring them that they will find their way back to the lounge, only to see them merely half an hour later, relaxed and smiling and blending in like they’ve been here since day one. It’s a pleasure to see and makes it all worthwhile knowing we’ve made a few people’s lives happier that day. As I write this, the sun is shining in through the window and it actually feels quite warm when you’re not in the wind. This is a good sign that the sundeck will be in full use again soon. I can’t wait for the days when the door can be left open all day and after warming up downstairs you can take time out to lie down on the beds and allow the gentle breeze to float through the door and waft over your skin, cooling you to the perfect temperature, letting you drift off to sleep and allowing you to escape the outside world for just a little bit longer. Aaaah. That thought was a difficult one to drag myself away from, so whilst I’m still in that zone, I shall bring this short and sweet newsletter to an end by saying that Sam and me and the rest of the team here at BGHS look forward to spending the oncoming months warm and wet with you and we will continue to provide you with the very best for those who would expect nothing less. Take care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you all soon. Angie BGHS

April Newsletter Happy Easter and Happy Birthday to BGHS!! We hit the grand old age of 29 this month!!! Damn, I think this means Sam and I can’t get away with saying we’re in our 30’s anymore without it looking suspicious! There have been many changes along the way and we have met some fantastic people and of course a few odd ones, they at least keep us supplied with funny anecdotes, but on the whole most of you have been a pleasure to know and we’d like to say a big thank you for the time you have chosen to spend with us and hopefully the many more years to come. The sun is shining more frequently now and I do believe the nights are considerably lighter, so it can only mean that summer is on its way. First however, we have to run the gauntlet of Bank holidays that are coming in the next couple of months all of which we will be open as normal for. Good Friday – mixed 12 noon till 10.30pm Saturday 19th – mixed 12 noon till 5.45pm then mixed gender couples only until 10.30pm Easter Sunday – mixed 12 noon till 5.45pm then mixed gender couples only until 10.30pm Bank holiday Monday – mixed 12 noon till 10.30pm. Last admission on all days is 9.30pm. It should be a lovely weekend with the sun shining and sundeck open. We look forward to seeing you at soon for some relaxation and escape. Take care Angie BGHS

September Newsletter. Hello to you all! I hope you have had a lovely summer and have manage to catch some of the fantastic weather we’ve had. It has certainly lifted the mood of our city which has hosted so many events and street festivals and parties this year it’s hard to have found time for anything else. Luckily you didn’t forget about us and we have been honoured with your company throughout the season too. The sundeck was at times certainly the place to be. I would also like to welcome all the newbies we’ve had over the past few months. It’s been great for us to meet you and I hope you have settled in quickly to the world of BGHS. Every new person receives a guided tour of the building and details of how it all works here but don’t worry if you didn’t take it all in first time there is plenty of literature in the lounges that explain how we work. You can also refresh your memories by visiting our website at www.bghs.co.uk which contains information on the do’s and don’ts and how to make the most of your visit. There are also always members of staff around should you need to ask any questions. I shouldn’t talk like it’s over yet but I’m afraid the nights are getting darker and facts must be faced that soon we will need more than a t shirt when going outside. Don’t despair though you can still get that tropical warm feeling and the freedom of being au naturel here at BGHS throughout the year! Shameless plug I know but it’s my newsletter I can do what I want! ;0) Anyway… on to BGHS news We tried to give ourselves a little time off this summer after the madness of all the renovations we have done so far this year, but our brains just wouldn’t stop planning and organising so we are ready and fresh with all sorts of ideas and projects that we can’t wait to get started on. Watch this space. There is only one small blip to our plans and that is the imminent arrival of our latest family member. She is literally due any day and may well have arrived already by the time you read this. Now although I don’t plan to disappear for long it will be putting some extra pressure on Sam and the team so there maybe a little delay in the start of the next phase of redecorating. Sorry about that. Normal service will be resumed shortly. We do have a maintenance project due to start at the beginning of October. Some of you will have noticed a few tiles keep going missing in the Jacuzzi. We have been up until now, re tiling and re grouting to keep this under control but ideally to solve the issue we will need to close the Jacuzzi for a few days and strip it back to basics and allow it to cure properly before refilling and using. We will give you plenty of notice of the start date of this project and promise to keep the closure and inconvenience down to a minimum. Unfortunately it is essential work that cannot be done any other way. Well, that’s it so far for this newsletter. We look forward to seeing you all soon but if you are unlucky enough to not be able to make it in, just keep watching our forum and website for updates on the latest here at BGHS and hopefully we will see you in a red towel very soon. Sam and I as always look forward to spending the oncoming months warm and wet with you and we will continue to provide you with the very best for those who would expect nothing less. Angie BGHS

Hello! You might not automatically think of coming to a warm place like us on a day like this but trust me the sun deck is absolutely glorious and when it gets too hot it's just a short nip to the cooling pool for a refresh and you don't have to do the pebble dance across the beach. At the end of a day nothing beats a sauna and a steam after a day in the sun to get the skin balanced and glowing and get rid of that layer of suntan lotion. Ok so we don't sell beer but we do have ice creams!!! See you soon! :0)

Hello. The BGHS website has now been updated with photos of the new areas we've created. Hopefully you have already had a chance to visit and see them in real life but if not take a peak at them and see what your missing and hopefully we'll see you soon. :0)

At last the new mural is up and the white room is finished! WOW! It looks absolutely amazing!! Better than we had dreamed of! Hope you like it too! :0)

JUNE 2013 NEWSLETTER Hello to you all! My apologies for not getting round to the May Newsletter, I have no valid excuse for its absence although I am starting to use the excuse of baby brain a little more than normal. Well…. I might as well use it while I can, I won’t be doing this a third time! So…. June has arrived. Flying in faster than a speeding train and so far bringing with it a little bit of sunshine to brighten our days. The wind has remained a little chilly but luckily our sundeck is fairly protected from this so the beds have been full and the feeling tropical. BGHS News: We have finally taken delivery of our new comfy and luxurious sofas in the TV lounge area. No more sitting down and getting stuck in the low level cushions. At last the final touches will soon be added to the new white room. The mural is being painted and prepared off site as I write this and we hope to start the installation one morning this week. Sam has picked the short straw to do the 7am start so if you see her in the spa downing coffee and Red Bull be careful and tread lightly! Lol! It may seem that we have been resting recently but we have been busy with maintenance jobs behind the scenes and necessary work. I won’t bore you with the details but rest assured we are always working to improve BGHS whether you can visibly see it or not. Have you seen the new forum pages recently? Most of you are getting on well with its new design but if you find you are craving the old colour scheme back, it is possibly to change it by using the user control panel and board preferences. The old style was called Pro silver so click on this and submit. Job done! If you have any problems with the site please let us know and I will try to find a solution to the issue. The new forum is allowing members to private message or email each other and is a great way to stay in touch with everyone when you’re not able to make it in. We do monitor the forum throughout the day to make sure people are abiding by its rules etc. but if you need to contact us and ask a question then please email us direct at contact@bghs.co.uk as you will get a faster response. No more bonus bank holidays now until August but still plenty of reasons to take a day out and treat yourself to a bit of well-earned relaxation at BGHS. There is father’s day on the 16th June and the Summer solstice on the 21st. There’s the Queen’s official birthday on the 8th which you can use as an excuse or if not there’s Prince Philip’s birthday on the 10th. It’s my 12th Wedding anniversary on the 15th which I know isn’t a big an event but hey I’ve already used the Queen and Prince Philip so my excuses are running low! You could of course always just take a day out because you deserve it. The world will still be there at the end of the day but you will be able to face it with a little more patience and positivity after a few hours of escape here with us. So I will leave you with that thought and hope to see you treating yourself soon… for now I’d just like to conclude in my normal way by saying that Sam and I as always look forward to spending the oncoming months warm and wet with you and we will continue to provide you with the very best for those who would expect nothing less. January 2014 Happy New Year to you all! I hope your Christmas and New Year were full of fun, laughter and not too much flooding!! We had a great 2013 and welcomed lots of lovely new people to BGHS and even got rid of a few we didn’t want. ;0) All in all we’ve had a fun time redecorating and regenerating and BGHS is stronger and better than ever and we’re looking forward to sharing 2014 with you all. Well… nearly all of you. Sam and I could tell a few tales of the 24 hour a day life of running BGHS and catch us on a good day we’ll give you a glimpse into the funny and bizarre world we’re in. However, sometimes something’s happen that makes us question the human race and this one I have to share. A poor, lonely, ineffectual human being took a good look at themselves one day and thought, I’m useless and pathetic, my life has no meaning and I hate seeing people happy. Now instead of embracing in some self-help they decided that it would be easier to bring everyone else down to their level so they didn’t have to feel so bad about the waste of life that they were. They had no friends and no social skills and just wanted anything beautiful destroyed, even if it was put there for them to enjoy. Unfortunately this individual found their way to BGHS, a place that is full of happy, successful, confident people enjoying their relaxation time and meeting new friends. They thought this would be the place to cry out for help and show the world how low they had got. First they would try to destroy the beautiful surroundings that seemed to make everyone so relaxed and happy, so they dug and they ripped at the beautiful mural and scraped and scratched at the wallpaper. But no one noticed them. It didn’t make them any happier and it didn’t get them any friends. In fact people really hated them and some people hoped that something very nasty would happen to them. Maybe it already had. Their cowardly attempt to upset people didn’t work. It didn’t bring anyone down, in fact it made them more determined to enjoy themselves and prosper. Now if this individual recognises themselves in this story. Instead of destroying something that is put there for you to enjoy, come and talk to us. We’d love to help you and show you the way forward! If you know anyone who matches this description please let us know who they are. If you can highlight us to any individual that needs our special help then there would be a very nice reward for your trouble. To the rest of you… we thank you again for your support, oh and chocolate. Yes… thank you very much for all the Christmas chocolate you gave to us, much appreciated. I’m feeling good about 2014… Bring it on!! For now I just want to say on behalf of Sam and me and the rest of the team here at BGHS we look forward to spending the oncoming months warm and wet with you and we will continue to provide you with the very best for those who would expect nothing less. Take care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you all soon. Angie BGHS

December Newsletter Well Hello to you all! I must apologise for my absent November Newsletter, It seems there are only so many times you can procrastinate before you miss your slot! Thank you to those that reminded me though, nice to know someone is noticing and missing them. I cannot believe I am writing another Christmas Newsletter so quickly! The jingling bells can no longer be silenced and the Ho Ho Ho’s are getting significantly louder, as are the Xmas songs which seem to be playing at full volume virtually everywhere you go now. We do celebrate Xmas at BGHS but we keep it low key so as to give you all a little rest bite from madness that comes with the season. We will be closed our normal days again this year which are listed at the bottom of this letter. This month’s BGHS news will mainly be addressing rumours: BGHS runs a zero tolerance policy on behaviour that is against our rules. There is a rumour circulating, that the whole top floor is now classed as the Restroom area and therefore there have been some incidents that have resulted in people being asked to leave the building and in some cases banned. Let me reassure you all that the only area classed as the restroom area, is behind the glass door, as this is the restroom area. All other areas are regularly patrolled by staff and anyone found thinking or acting otherwise will be leaving the building immediately and for some time. I think that’s clear enough message but if you are in any doubt please ask a member of staff to clarify the rules. Another rumour that seems to be misguiding people is about the restroom area. Just because we do not patrol this area the same as the rest of the building does not mean that anything goes and no rules apply. There are rules to this area too. New signs have been put up to clarify these and we will be running a Zero tolerance on anyone found breaking them. CCTV- yep, that caught your attention didn’t it. Now before this particular rumour gets out of hand I would like to clarify. We DO NOT have CCTV cameras in any public area of the building or outside. We have installed security/safety cameras in the staff areas only, to protect our staff and property. We do not believe it is morally or ethically right to film anyone in a naturist environment and would never do so. If you are worried please come and talk to a member of staff. Now on to happier news items…. Katka has now left for her maternity leave. We wish her all the best and look forward to sharing her good news with you all when the day comes. We have the old team back with Lucie resuming managerial duties alongside Magda and our new management team member Noey. Sam and I are still here but then some things never change!!! Now before I get onto those all-important Christmas opening or should I say closing dates, I would just like to say one more time a huge thank you to all those that are continuing to support us with this whole Trip advisor nonsense. For those of you not up to speed on this one… it seems that nowadays if you ask someone to leave your property because they have broken your rules and they don’t like it, the first thing they do is attempt to ruin your otherwise good reputation by talking about you on review sites. This we can deal with but when the review site i.e. Trip advisor refuses to let you post a factual reply even if you have proof, you are left with a biased report that is far removed from fact. Seemed a bit unfair to us and to some of you too, which is why we are ever so thankful to those that wrote good reviews that have helped balance the score somewhat. Thank you!!! Now last but not least…. Over the Christmas period we will be closed Tuesday 24th December (Xmas Eve) Wednesday 25th December (The Big Day) Thursday 26th December (Boxing Day) & Tuesday 31st December (New Year’s Eve) Wednesday 1st December (Recovery day) All other days we will be open as normal and look forward to spending them with you. Oh yes …. there will be mince pies and possibly Santa hats as usual, so come in and visit us and claim your lovingly baked yule time freebie! So this just leaves me with one very last thing and that is, on behalf of all of us here at BGHS we would like to thank you for spending so much of 2013 with us and we wish you a Happy Christmas and a Joyful New Year and we hope we can spend more time with you wet and warm in the world of BGHS in 2014. Take care of yourselves and we shall see you soon. Angie BGHS

October 2013 Newsletter Hello to you all. I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying this last spurt of sunshine we’ve been having. It has been hard to see the increasing amount of Christmas paraphernalia in the shops and supermarkets alongside such glorious weather as I feel I’m being forced into an early winter!! I shall head on to BGHS news with no further delays as I have my hands rather full at the moment as you will see from the first item…. BGHS news: I am happy to announce that our daughter Isabella finally arrived on 17th September. She absolutely gorgeous, wonderfully healthy and strong and loved very much by us all. Thank you to everyone who has sent such lovely kind words and thoughts and gifts. We are a very happily family. I will be back to work by the end of the month so I look forward to seeing you all then and maybe show you a picture or two if her Aunty Sam hasn’t done that already. In the meantime poor Sam has been working extra hard to keep things running smoothly and allow me the time to adjust, so if you see her looking a bit distressed and tired you will know why. If you remember from the last newsletter I mentioned that work was going to start on the Jacuzzi in October. We now have a date set for this, starting Monday 21st until Friday 25th. We as always will aim to get the job done as quickly as possible but we need to allow time for the new concrete, adhesive and grout to fully cure to avoid further closures in the future. We do apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but I hope you understand that as we are open 7 days a week, 360 days a year for 10.5 hours a day, sometimes closures like this are unavoidable. On a final note we have recently been at war with a company you may have heard of called Trip Advisor. We are not alone in our battle and there are an increasing amount of businesses being bullied and blackmailed by individuals who have threatened to make false and fake reviews as either retaliation or revenge, if certain demands are not met. Unfortunately, the faceless company Trip Advisor have failed to protect the innocent and have a dubious policy of not allowing right of reply, (they indicate you can but delete them or refuse to authorise them) and / or removing comments left that have been proven to be done in spite or even allowing your company to remove itself from the site altogether. I will not bore you with the details here but if you want to know more please ask us. There are court cases on going that hopefully will change their appalling attitude but in the meantime if you want to support us and help us fight the people currently trying to give false reviews on our business that we have worked so hard to build we would appreciate you taking the time to counteract them with positive reviews of your experiences. Regardless of the above we are happy to say that we have met some really lovely people recently and have had great responses on the forum and many emails of support of which I thank you all for deeply. Sam and I as always look forward to spending the oncoming months warm and wet with you and we will continue to provide you with the very best for those who would expect nothing less. Angie BGHS
