Our research focuses on ecological, evolutionary and conservation physiology. To answer questions about the natural world, we study a variety of species, including walruses, camels, flying squirrels, whip-poor-wills and lake trout, among others.
We use a combination of field and laboratory studies to understand how energetic trade-offs influence Darwinian fitness in animals. Rather than being taxa -specific, our research is driven by the August Krogh principle, "for every research question there is an organism upon which it can be most conveniently studied." We are based at Trent University, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
