Café 55 is a bright and cheerful café that’s open to the general public for three days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am until 3pm. It is run by Sense’s deafblind people and volunteers from across the local community. It offers disabled people the opportunity to gain catering experience and potentially meaningful employment. It has a varied menu of cakes, snacks, sandwiches, soup and refreshments which are very reasonably priced, as well as a takeaway service. The café area is also available for hire in the evening. Currently youth groups and charities who want a safe and secure environment to meet in come here on a regular basis. The café is fully wheelchair accessible and has disabled toilets, a children’s area and free wifi.
