Welcome to Callanetics-EdinburghBorders! Callanetics is a unique form of exercise that works each muscle very deeply, strengthens core and pelvic floor muscles, protects the back and joints and guarantees inch loss. It is very exciting as 11 new Callanetics classes are starting in Kelso, Melrose, Newtown St Boswells, Galashiels and Lauder the week commencing 15th October 2012!!! General Info

Cost Β£110 for a block of 10 classes or Β£12 per individual class. Blocks can be used at your own pace but there is a 6 month time limit on using it. Fabulous inch loss!! Firstly I have to commend Mo and Emma for travelling from Alnwick to Kelso every week for their class but it was sooo worth it! After 10 classes Mo toned up and lost 10 1/4 inches and Emma toned and lost 9 1/2 inches!! LOSING AN INCH A CLASS!!!! How good is that! Welldone girls....hope to see you soon (after lambing πŸ˜‰) Xx

Amazing!! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ Three ladies where measured for the first time and lost well over half an inch an hour and two ladies were measured for the 3rd and 4th time and are continuing to tone and shed the inches! CLASSES THIS WEEK!! Hi Ladies.....unfortunately I have had a set back in my recovery so need a little bit more time off from teaching πŸ˜”. The great news is that the lovely Karin can cover the classes for 1 more week. So the classes running are as follows: Monday: 7.30pm Kelso Wednesday: 9.45am Borders Physio Clinic & 12pm Dalkeith. Thursday: 6pm Gala & 7.45pm Lauder. Sat: awaiting to verify cover. I am so sorry to those of you wishing to come back to classes this week and for any inconvenience....I don't like letting you down. I myself am desperate to come back! ALL classes will be back on Monday 17th November. Hope you are all doing well and I look forward to seeing you soon xx

Tummy Challenge anyone?? While the cat is away the mice can still workout! Below is a step by step guide to performing the classic tummy pulse. If you feel comfortable to do so add on an advancement as instructed in class to work the tummy a bit harder (be mindful of your lower back!). Aim to time yourself for 1 minute or a count of 100 pulses and repeat 4 times. If you do this once a day for a week I promise you will see a difference. Measure around your tummy before you start and after the week challenge! Tummy Pulse - gets your tummy muscles working to give flat tum! 1) Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and feet on the floor hip width apart. 2)Round in - bring your crown of head and neck in first and stretch forward with your arms to hold onto your inner thighs. Take your elbows up and out to bring your shoulders in as far as you can until you are 'rounded in' as much as you can. 3)Hold in that position and take a nice deep breath in and slowly exhale out to relax your tummy down. Now draw your tummy button in towards your spine to engage your trans ab. Engage your pelvic floor muscles (internal muscles clenching!). 4)Take one hand off at a time and take them low with your thumbs down to the floor. 5)Now pulse down 16th of an inch taking the bust down into the rib cage without dropping the shoulders back for a count of 100 or for a minute. Things to remember....oncer rounded in hold your shoulders in that position to contract the tummy muscles and the tiny pulse will work them really deeply. The pulse is down towards the rib cage not back and forth. Happy pulsing! Suzi x
