Campbell Street Children's centre is a community based, not for profit daycare centre.
Our aim is to provide a happy, healthy, safe and supported learning environment in which our children can grow and develop. We also aim to attract and retain quality staff who will care for and nurture the children of the Centre and be role models in our community.
Welcome back for 2015! We are delighted to announce the arrival of Tanya & Antonis son during the holidays. Congratulations! While Tanya is on maternity leave, Melissa (from the Toddler Room) our 2IC is your point of contact for any queries or concerns you have regarding the centre. We look forward to spending another great year with you all.
This afternoon the centre closes for our two week annual shut down. We will be back on Monday 5th January 2015. We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and safe and peaceful holidays.
Don't forget to come along to the children's Christmas Party at the centre tomorrow, Thursday 18th from 6:30 to 7:30pm.
Thank you to everyone who helped out or attended our fete. We raised a record $3100!!!
One more sleep until Fete Day!! We've been keeping a close eye on the weather (very high chance of rain then slight chance of rain, now medium chance of rain...) Either way it will be going ahead! It's going to be a pleasant 25 with possible showers in the afternoon/evening. Luckily we've got plenty of gazebos ready to go up so everything will be under cover. So rain or no rain we'll be here and hope to see you!
Dear Campbell Street Parents and Friends, As a non-for profit childcare centre, Campbell Street Children's Centre is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. Membership of the board is voluntary and consists of current and former parents of Campbell Street children. Members of the local community with an interest in our centre are also welcome and encouraged to join the board. The role of the Board of Directors is to oversee the financial and regulatory practices of the centre and set the strategic direction for improvement of the centre's facilities and care of the children. Although board membership is voluntary, it is important to be aware that there are legal obligations and board members must act within the required regulations and legislation as well as in the best interests of Campbell Street. Training will be provided for new board members. As the year draws to a close, a number of current board members will be resigning from the board as their children move on to school. As such, we are seeking new members to join the Campbell Street Board of Directors. It is important to note that without a functioning board, Campbell Street cannot legally continue to operate and open its doors to care for your children. There are no particular skills required to be a member of the Board, just an interest in ensuring that Campbell Street Children's Centre continues to be able to offer a high level of care to the local community. The board meets once a month and are sometimes asked to be involved in decision making via email at other times. Apart from allowing you to contribute to your community, being a member of the board also provides opportunities for developing skills that look great on your CV! Below is some information about a several of the current board members. If you have any questions about becoming a board member and the commitment required please feel free to have a chat to any of the board members listed or speak to Jo or Tanya.
