Opened New Year's Day 2014. _________________________________________________________ Meet Carla : Hello! I’m Carla Cosgrove— Makeup Artist and Founder of Candour Store. I decided to create Candour Store as a response to my own green-living journey, my experiences as a Makeup Artist and my search for honesty, transparency and a sense of humour in the beauty industry. I wear makeup, dye my hair, love nice dresses and have a soft spot for beautiful packaging design. Always have. Always will. After making the decision to clean out the toxic contents of my bathroom cabinet (and makeup kit), I quickly tired of the bland “brown and green” options available to me. Most of them left me with a feeling that can best be described as “Meeehhhh…” I knew there had to be a better way… I wanted products that were not only non-toxic and effective, but also beautiful. I wanted to feel pampered, but also be sure that my choices would not be harmful to animals, workers, my health or the environment. Since then I’ve spent years reading, researching and testing and now, although I am still learning new things everyday (and loving it!), I’ve got this thing sorted! Candour Store is my way of sharing with you what I’ve learnt, and what I continue to discover about green beauty, sustainable style and conscious living.
