The Canterbury Cantata Trust is an umbrella organisation that develops choral activities within the community for a wide variety of participants. We promote singing as a tool to improve well-being for people of all ages .
The four choirs we currently run are ; Canterbury Cantata, a specialised choral group, open to young singers by audition using extensive repertoire from the 16th -21st centuries, performing both in venues such as Westminster Abbey and to audiences in schools and other community settings Amici Chorus a non-auditioned community choir, open to all with members being challenged by a wide variety of repertoire centring around the performance of two major choral works each year. Monday Music offers the opportunity to use singing as a means of improving individual well-being. Skylarks is a choir similar in principal to Monday Music but for people at varying stages of Parkinson’s Disease .

We are the independent representative body for our members of around 18,000 students, through elected representatives from the student body, providing them with a collective voice to the University and the wider community. We run a wide range of services across three University campuses, including 40+ sports teams and 50+ societies, an FM radio station, wellbeing and advice services, campaigning, employability initiatives, entertainment programmes culminating in our annual summer ball, as well as a bar and a coffee shop delivered in collaboration with an outsourced company.
