Little bit about us: The Cardiff Foundation Course provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop and enrich their learning within the field of art and design practice. The course provides the support and expertise necessary to take the first steps in the training of creative artists and designers of all types. It enables students to make the transition from school, college or other backgrounds to the highly competitive specialist demands of higher education within art and design. The majority of our students progress to one of the many degree courses across the country in areas such as Fine Art, Graphics, Illustration, Media, 3D design, Fashion and Textiles, Ceramics, Film, Photography and more. The Cardiff Foundation Course also maintains a close relationship with Cardiff Metropolitan University and shares many beneficial links. Some students choose to take advantage of this special relationship and progress to one of the many degree courses offered by Cardiff Metropolitan University. The staff at The Arts Academy have a wide range of expertise and are trained to teach and advise students to a very high level. Housed in its own building situated in the heart of Cardiff the Foundation Course is its own arts community where students are actively encouraged to try new things and develop creatively alongside their peers.
