In 2001 the School of Education celebrated 50 years of Initial Teacher Education Training (ITET) provision in Cardiff and it remains the largest in Wales and one of the largest centres for ITET in the United Kingdom. Both the Department of Humanities and Department of Professional Development have excellent recruitment figures and their programmes have an increasing national and international reputation for excellence.
