We offer not only in home companion services anywhere from 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to by the hour daily check-ins but we also own several beautiful homes in Edmond, Oklahoma in residential neighborhoods that we offer as Senior Shared Housing. The homes have 24/7 care and are a wonderful alternative to traditional Long Term Care facilities in that they are a home that allows the residents to take pride in them and to feel "at home." Whereas traditional long term care facilities, no matter how well they are decorated and configured They still have that "institutional" feel to them which makes living there less than wonderful and it makes visiting there a chore rather than a pleasure. Our homes have the opposite effect because they are homes, not institutions. With no "visiting hours" or maximum number of guests allowed each time we've found the resident gets many more "drop in" visits than in a facility because when people do drop in they find their time there so much more pleasant as the grand kids can play in the back yard, the residents and their guests can visit in the kitchen, at the dining room table or in their private room-just like home. Cold drinks are in the kitchen fridge not a machine 3 floors away and you're welcome to stay for supper. Its not "a home" it's their home and that makes all the difference.
