Contact Us Toll Free By Calling 1-800-476-7506 The C.A.R.E. Program provides services to victims of elder abuse and consumer crime in Riverside County. As part of the Adult Services Division, we investigate incidents of consumer fraud against elders (65+) or dependent adults (18-64) and we assist the person in resolving the situation and protecting themselves. We also provide presentations, trainings, and information sessions to professional and community groups about how to recognize and report elder abuse. We coordinate the Multi-Disciplinary Elder Abuse Teams which bring together professionals who investigate suspected abuse and provide services to elders and dependent adults in Riverside County. Those Who Benefit from the C.A.R.E. Program: The C.A.R.E. Program provides direct advocacy for the elderly (65+) and dependent adults (18-64) victims of consumer fraud who are residents of Riverside County. All citizens of Riverside County benefit as reports of abuse and consumer fraud rise and the number of trained reporters and responders increases. Although perpetrators often target the elderly, there are non-elderly victims who also benefit from the identification and prosecution of the perpetrators. Early intervention and/or recovery of funds saves taxpayer dollars as elders are able to stay in their own homes and off various public assistance programs. C.A.R.E. Program staff are located in Sheriff stations throughout Riverside County to immediately provide law enforcement with resources and links to appropriate community partners. The C.A.R.E. Program facilitates three regional Multi-Disciplinary Teams (C.A.R.E. Teams) where member agencies benefit from collaboration during case discussion at their monthly meetings
