Description

This is the OFFICIAL Carlisle Primary School facebook page. Carlisle is a positive and harmonious school where diversity is celebrated. We welcome students from every part of the globe with students from six continents and forty seven countries. We are committed to developing greater understanding and respect of cultures in a caring and supportive environment and utilise the strength of our diversity to engage in special days and events for students and parents. This enriches and encourages our whole school community. We have teams of talented and passionate staff who are dedicated to doing the very best for our students. Our teachers use a student centered approach to learning, using explicit, researched and evidence based teaching strategies. Parents and carers are always welcome in the school as helpers or visitors and we offer free English lessons and other programs to our international parents. Our present school population is 356 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. At Carlisle Primary School great importance is placed on providing opportunities for students to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes to contribute successfully to a rapidly changing society. We have a positive reputation for being inclusive of all members of the school community through our quality teaching and learning programs, behaviour management processes, pastoral care and parent/carer partnerships. Our school structure is organised into learning teams, where teachers collaboratively plan the teaching and learning program to ensure that every child's learning needs are met, academically, socially and emotionally. Carlisle has a commitment to assisting students to develop their understanding of the Curriculum Framework's Core Shared Values and a whole school approach has been adopted. Our student leadership program, through the elected Councillors and Faction Sports Captains, is a living example of the development of the values of social and civic responsibility. The parent/carer community work in partnership with the school through the School Council and P&C. All parents/carers are welcomed and valued by the school and form a strong link in enabling student success. We have strong partnerships with the local community, especially the Belmont City Council, neighbouring schools and community youth services.

~ ~ Important Information For Parents ~ ~ The School day commences for students at 8.45am. However, it is beneficial to have students at school before this time so that they can settle into the day and prepare for the day’s activities. It has been pleasing to see the numbers of students arriving after the bell has decreased this term. However there are still a number of students arriving after the 8.45am bell. This is unfair on the students who are in class and who are interrupted every day by late arrivals. The school day FINISHES AT 3.00pm. Students who are being picked up need to be done so as close to this time as possible. It is unacceptable to leave students on school grounds for any length of time beyond 3.00pm. Staff have children of their own to pick up or meetings or appointments to be at and it is unfair to expect them to be late because you can’t pick up your child up on time. Students become distressed when they expect to be picked up on time and parents/caregivers are LATE. Please only arrive into the school just before 3pm to pick your children up as sitting outside classrooms can be disruptive to teachers and students. Thank you
