A small batch coffee roaster with a big vision for the indigenous culture of Southern Mexican.
At Casa del Café, we believe a cup of coffee is more than just a start to the day. Our beans come directly from the indigenous farmers of Chiapas, Mexico- a culture that is very much in need of support. We have two goals: 1) To bring economic support to the destitute region of Chiapas, Mexico 2) To bring you a little bit of indigenous culture with every bag.

Dear All, A few days ago we stated that we would be a project on Kickstarter soon; well, I have some bad news. We have been declined by Kickstarter. They stated "Kickstarter is a platform for creative projects. Projects involving charity or cause-based funding are not allowed on Kickstarter" They stated that if we wanted to restate our cause and make it about the coffee only, that they would reconsider. This is our first trial. When Beth ad I started this we pledged to each other that the Kingdom and our mission would always be first, so we are not going to revamp our story and sell out. We are going forward and perhaps we will do our own fundraising project on our up and coming web-site. Whatever happens, we know the Lord is ahead of us, behind us and in us. Keep praying for our mission and our project.
We are launching our Kickstarter in the next few days. Please pledge and tell everyone about it. This will be a great help to us in geting this great project going. Tomorrow is back to the Roaster for me. Beth is sick so please pray for her. Peace and Love, Sergio
We are back from the Jungle and had a great trip. The team is going back today and they are rejoicing because the Lord used them to gather 55 new believers into His Kingdom. Between both teams we have seen over 500 people medically and had over 100 professions of faith. After taking the team to the airport, I will visit with one of the new believers here in San Cris. Tomorrow is coffee roasting day with the pros. I will continue to refine my skills as a roaster. The men training me on the fine art are 30 year veterans and they are teaching me things besides how to roast to perfection. They are also teaching me about bean selection and about understanding humidity density and other aspects that dictate the quality, roasting and general excellence in the trade.
Dear all, Today I got to go back to where my coffee will be prepared for shipping. I had to get registered with the FDA and take the registration number to the guys that will ship the coffee to me. Two days from now we go back into the Jungle. This time we will be deep in the Lancandon where Jaguar Tapirs and Howler Monkeys can stil be seen. We will be teaching, and doing a medical mission. We are leading a 9 member team from Louisiana along with 3 from texas and 3 local translators a child and a pastor, making our team number 17. Please pray for our safety and for God's favor. Sergio
