Description

Located in the Central Coast region of New South Wales. Cass Rats specialises in a variety of coat types, including velour, silk/double silk, and rex/double rex, in a huge range of colours and patterns. Standard coated rats are available in blue, chocolate, variegated, hypervariable-blazed, spotties, downunder and others. Rats are available for pick-up either from the rattery in Gosford, and freight is available for interstate buyers. Before placing an order, please read the following: - Rats are $30 each, when ordering from the available rats the minimum order is two. - Things are now on a much smaller scale, and I am not able to offer all the varieties, all the time. Please contact for availability of rats. -You are welcome to inquire about specific varieties, but there will almost certainly be a wait. - Due to the importance of quarantine, all orders must be finalised before pickup and unfortunately we can not offer tours of the rattery. FAQ: Q: "Can I breed rats I buy from you? Do I need to sign any contracts or do anything unusual for them?" A: No problem! Once you take these rats, they are yours to do with as you believe is best. If I am willing to let you have them, you have convinced me that you are responsible enough to make your own decisions. I don't need you to sign anything or give me any personal details. I just want you to have great rats, I don't want your soul! These rats come with no strings attached, they're all yours! Q: "Can I make a group order? Like, if I only want one and a friend wants one, can we still buy?" A: Yes, absolutely! Just make sure you place your order as a single order from one person rather than two separate orders. Q. "What do you feed your rats?" A. I feed my rodents Lauke Mills Rodent Cubes, which is available in bulk from many stock feed stores - or if you are after smaller quantities, you can buy small amounts from me when collecting rats. Q. "What bedding do you use?" A. Over my many years of keeping and breeding rodents on an appreciable scale, I find using a good quality particulate substrate like chipped hemp, lucerne chaff, wood shavings, oaten chaff etc. extremely beneficial. Currently I am using 'Superior Shavings'. Q. "What do you keep your rats in?" A. Tubs! Tubs are by far the most successful enclosure to keep rodents in, both in price, ease of cleaning, and most importantly, health. Why yes, people do have relative success with cages, tubs are the clear winner every time, and what I strongly recommend.
