A cake is not just a cake. Each cake is a symbol of the celebration of an achievement or an event and me being the creator of these symbols means I am fortunate enough to be a part of each and every special moment. My adventure into the world of cake has been one bumpy ride so far and it really is just the beginning! My love for cake began in 2010 when I set myself the task of creating a ‘Lightning McQueen’ cake for my sons 1st birthday. Everyone thought I was crazy – I wasn’t one that normally spent much time in the kitchen. After two solid days of tears and tantrums I finally conquered the task I had set and in front of me I had an edible creation that resembled my son’s favourite character. This Lightening McQueen was far from perfect in my eyes but I knew from that moment I had started something. The feeling of accomplishment this Lightning McQueen cake gave me made me hungry for more! Maybe it was the 2kg of chocolate in the cake that made me hungry for more? Whatever it was, I knew I couldn’t stop there. Having a full time day job as well as being a full time parent has made it very difficult for me to find to time to commit to cakes as much as I would like to and I haven’t quite yet perfected my cake/life balance. This is evident when you look at the date I created this page! Took me almost 8 months to publish… Anyway, I hope you enjoy my creations uploaded on here new and old.
