The Turnaround Zone is a unique concept in the Clark County School District and, as such, requires unique thinking, unique strategies, and unique initiatives that stand apart from "common practice." As often happens in education around the nation, effective schools are the result of a group of hard working educators combining their efforts to inspire and provide venues to young learners. While this is a functional approach that works for many of our schools, there are still a number of schools that struggle to achieve "high-performing" status and thus need a unique and more intensive approach. The schools that have been and will be integrated into the Turnaround Zone need a different approach, an approach that creates effective schools by design and not by chance.
