The Cedar Centre for Active Health & Living is a destination for health, community and art located in Windsor Nova Scotia. The center is located in the historic former ‘Hawbolts’ building with over 100 years of history. We are THE centre for Active Health & Living in Nova Scotia. We help people to develop, enjoy and participate in healthy mind and body lifestyle. The concept of the Cedar Centre for Active Health & Living was created by Dr. Matthias Jaepel who holds a PhD in Sports Science and is the president of Platypus Medical Exercise Therapy and Training. Our goal is to find the cause of pain and reduce or remove it with a reduced dependency on prescription drugs and other intrusive practices. The Cedar Centre is developing into a multi-disciplinary health centre where psychiatrists, homeopathic doctors, nutritionists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, chiropractors, physiotherapists; and health food professional’s services can be found. The Cedar Centre provides a warm and inviting health and living atmosphere where health, art and lifestyle interact. We have various sculptures of artist Ian Startup, as well as various paintings (both original and limited editions) of artist David Howells on display. We welcome you to visit us and are proud to show you how our center has been transformed into the Cedar Centre of Active Health & Living. The additional services we currently provide include: • Platypus Medial Exercise Therapy and Training; • Tai Chi with instructor Bob cook; • Studio for artist David Howells to create his wonderful work; • Home of the monthly meetings of the Avon Chamber of Commerce; • Space rentals, including: board room, dance/yoga studio, and large spaces perfect for hosting events such as art shows, ceremonies, parties, etc.
