As I've mentioned in past posts, the less salt we ingest, the better. So here are some other herbs, spices, and flavorings you might consider instead of salt. - Basil - Cayenne - Chives - Lemon Juice - Oregano - Thyme - Turmeric There are many more herbs and spices you can use to season your food. Please feel free to share them with us in the comments section! Have a blessed day!

"I love you." Three simple words, when spoken from the heart, carry an incredibly powerful message. These seven letters have the ability to change a person's life forever, brighten someone's day, and dissolve feelings of sadness and loneliness. Every day of life is a gift and an opportunity to let people know how we feel about them. Say, "I love you." Say it often, and say it with your heart. Every time you do, the good feelings join the collective consciousness and help make it an even more powerful, loving, and creative force. Have a blessed Sunday.

On this beautiful Saturday, let's talk about why physical activity is so important. Within our body is contained a lymphatic system, which is a network of capillaries that parallels the blood vessels. Unlike the cardiovascular system through which blood is pumped and moved through the vessels by the heart, the lymph system has no pump. The lymph system is designed to filter out the toxins from your body, like the lint filter in a dryer. Unfortunately, without exercise, once stored these toxins remain trapped inside the lymph vessels. So let's side aside around 30 to 45 minutes today to do some physical activity to help filter out those toxins we accumulate. You're body will thank you! Have a blessed day!

Aloha Friday! So here's a good tip before the start of the weekend: scrape your tongue. Have you ever tried scraping your tongue? If not, I'm willing to guess you will be very pleasantly surprised to discover just how refreshed your mouth will feel. The tongue is a collection site for bacteria and other minute substances. In fact, the majority of the bacteria that cause bad breath live on the tongue, among the miniscule bumps called papillae and the grooves between them. If you scrape your tongue, you can uproot these unwelcome guests and prevent them from causing bad breath. Removing them is also best for your overall health and can improve your sense of taste as well. You can use a teaspoon to scrape your tongue. Simply hold it upside down in your mouth so that the curved edge touches your tongue. You will love how refreshed your moth will feel!

When ya gotta go...ya gotta go. No matter if you're in a board meeting, with a group of people, or driving along the highway. Delaying or stopping yourself from moving your bowels or urinating when Nature calls can be a very unhealthy habit. If you make it a habit of ignoring your body's signals, your brain will automatically ease up on sending this crucial information. The end result could be constipation. Over time, pockets may form collecting the stool that wasn't eliminated in a timely fashion, hence the diagnosis of diverticulitis. If you hold urine for a long time and often, you can get a urinary tract infection or a distended bladder, which mean it cannot contract as well as it should, and won't empty properly. So make sure to schedule your bathroom breaks; it's important. The bottom line: when Nature calls...pick up on the first ring!

Optimal health can be affected by minute changes in hormone levels. A hormone imbalance can occur for numerous natural reasons, including pregnancy and menopause, and can also result from overweight or obesity, lack of exercise, stress, and poor diet. The most common type of hormone imbalance among all women is a deficiency of progesterone, while estrogen deficiency is seen most often among menopausal women. Men can begin to experience symptoms of a hormone imbalance because their testosterone levels begin to decline around age 40. Please feel free to contact us if you want to know more or to schedule a consultation.

George Bernard Shaw once said, "Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last you create what you will." Have a wonderful, healthy, and creative Saturday!

The American Heart Association and the National Institute of Health are very concerned about the amount of salt that people are eating. They recommend that your daily diet contain no more than 2.4 grams (about 1 teaspoon) of salt. However, most of the salt you eat does not come from the salt shaker! About 75 to 80% of all the salt people eat come from processed foods. Food manufacturers add salt to food because it improves the taste and it is a preservative. A great way to reduce the amount of salt in your diet is to eat less processed foods and replace them with more fresh foods, like raw fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. Remember, a little change here and there goes a long way. Have a wonderful, healthy day!

Good morning! Sometimes data can give us a different perspective on life. For example, if you could shrink the entire world's population to a village of 100 people, retaining all existing human ratios, the village would look like this: - 80 people living in substandard housing - 70 people unable to read - 50 suffering from malnutrition - 4 without a home - 1 with a college education - 1 would own a computer When you look at the world from this perspective, it becomes glaringly evident how blessed we are. True happiness comes from embracing what you already have, not in getting what you think you want. Have a blessed day.
