The Centre for Heritage at Kent (CH@K) is a new interdisciplinary centre that seeks to engage in innovative projects, by working across the boundaries between a variety of academic and professional disciplines. In its first years, the centre will focus primarily, but not exclusively, on: - heritage and democracy (representation of diversity within heritage spaces; memories of minorities at heritage spaces; public engagement) - heritage and development (socio-economic impacts of heritage conservation; regeneration and impacts; limit of acceptable change) - international heritage conservation (implementation and evaluation of the World Heritage Convention, the Intangible Heritage Convention, the 1970 Convention on illicit trade).
