Centro Hispano offers GED classes that will improve your reading, writing, math, social studies, and science skills in preparation for the GED tests.
Centro Hispano Milwaukee (CHM) is a community based, nonprofit organization serving Latinos and the economically challenged in Milwaukee. Services are provided in education, human services, and housing. All individuals and families in need are welcome. Adult Education was one of the first CHM programs developed specially to address high school equivalency diploma achievement. Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Educational Development (GED) preparation is offered in English with CHM instructors and in Spanish with MATC instructors. These classes work on reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. Once you are at a high school level, your instructor will work with you to begin the official testing process. Some students take this class to help prepare for the entrance tests required to attend college (i.e. Accuplacer, Compass, etc.). The Adult Education & Community Services program is designed to assist adults (age 18 and over) obtain the English language and/or academic skills necessary for employment or post-secondary education. Professionally trained instructors provide classroom instruction in real life context that prepares students for the next step in their life-long learning pathway.
