Description
The CFL organization is a 501(c) (3) non-profit community service organization that provides a successful proven prison-based program that was implemented in 1999 at the Mound Correctional Facility as the Transformation Project. This program was designed to select specific prisoners to participate in a long term training program which consists of mediation and conflict resolution, critical thinking, communication skills building, substance abuse awareness, diversity, parenting and relationship building, etc. After one year of the implementation of this program, the Mound Facility reported that incidents among inmates decreased by 40%. This program is currently implemented in six (6) correctional facilities throughout Michigan including: Lakeland, Macomb, Mound(closed), Ryan, Parnall, Parr Highway(Gus Harrison) and Huron Valley Women’s Facility.
