at Buckingham Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 5 QU United Kingdom
We are a primary school hoping to open in September 2015 on Buckingham street, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The decision to develop the Charan Kamal Free Primary School was made in order to establish a centre of educational excellence in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The school will actively promote social cohesion through principles of tolerance, respect and understanding of citizenship which reflects both British values and the Sikh faith. The school will be open to all faiths or none since we intend Charan Kamal Free School to develop as a beacon of tolerance and understanding, spiritual in intent in an area of cultural diversity. The school recognises the urgent need to raise academic achievement in an area of high social disadvantage; alongside fostering pupils self-worth and the raising of personal aspiration and pride in community. Our school mission is to work with pupils’ and their families in order to develop individual potentials. Pupils’ will recognize their personal talents, fitness and health needs and achieve the highest educational goals. Thus pupils’ will acquire high expectations and expertise, growing into future leaders, equipped with the tools to go out and serve the world by overcoming the mental, physical and spiritual challenges of life. Our Vision: The school is strongly committed to the intellectual, physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth of young pupils. We draw on the work of respected educational pioneers such as Pestalozzi, Mason, Vygotsky, Bruner and Freire, who also recognised the importance of young pupils reaching their educational potentials through active engagement with the world. Scholarly reflection will be a feature of our pedagogical practice, and we intend to develop links with local universities in order to ensure academic rigour in planning, teaching and assessment. Charan Kamal Free Primary School will fully address educational and community diversity. We will offer the International Primary Curriculum and the EYFS and the National Curriculum for Math and English. Mathematical teaching will also be enriched by drawing on proven international practice such as the Singapore model for teaching mathematics. We are offering a distinctly different pedagogy to other schools in our area. We also include traditional learning such as learning times tables, handwriting and reading development, which are often missing in other local schools. In undertaking the above we are making full use of academy freedoms to improve standards in our local area. We are currently developing our website which he hope to have up and running in due course which will hopefully answer any other queries or questions you may have, in the mean do not hesitate to get in contact via email@example.com

We have had a great response from everyone regarding the school and the support has been overwhelming, just a quick reminder that the school will NOT be run by the Gurdwara Committee it will be governed by its own members who are experts in their own fields.
