Cheltenham Chiropractic Clinic was set up in 1978 and is the oldest and longest running Chiropractic Clinic in Gloucestershire. We are fully Government registered, members of the BCA and covered by all major healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Cheltenham Chiropractic Clinic was set-up in July 1978 after the graduation of Rita Hemmings. Always on the same site, the clinic has grown, walls moved and buildings added; up until November 1991, when the last addition was made. It is quite understandable that some of our longer term patients get lost! Both Chiropractors are fully government registered with the GCC (General Chiropractic Council) and are members of the British Chiropractic Association. There are currently two chiropractors practising at the clinic: Rita Hemmings, D.C. Rita Hemmings graduated from the Angle-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in 1978 and is a member of the BCA; having been on the register of the GCC since its inauguration. Having now practised for over 30 years, she has seen a wide variety of patients and conditions, giving her an extensive field of experience and the opportunity to help with a wide range of problems. Rita is married to Terry, who is the "hidden" backbone of the clinic (excuse the pun!): not only being there when something needs to be built or fixed, but also saving her lots of time and hassle with all the boring paperwork! They have two grown-up sons: one of which is persecuted with our weekly computer and website issues... In her spare time, Rita has a variety of interests from walking and growing vegetables, to spinning and weaving; and, one day, hopes to really brush-up that O' Level French! Catherine Owers, B.Sc. (Hons), D.C. ยท Associate Catherine graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, in Glamorgan, in 2002 - achieving a first class honours degree - and undertook her pre-registration training year at Cheltenham Chiropractic Clinic; and has been here ever since! Catherine is fully registered with the GCC and is a member of the BCA. As well as working in Cheltenham, Catherine also runs her own part-time clinic in Malvern and has a special interest in treating sports injuries and headaches, as well as using spinal rehabilitation to reduce the chances of mechanical dysfunctions reoccurring. She enjoys working with sports people and has treated high-level athletes from the fields of athletics, rugby, football, horse racing and weight lifting. Catherine lives in Cheltenham and runs with the Almost Athletes, so has insider knowledge on running injuries!
