Established in 1904 and still a family run working Boathouse and restaurant with 80 handmade punts in the water. The punting season is mid March to mid October open 10am - dusk, dependant on the weather. The well known local restaurant has a superlative wine list and is open all year round with an alfresco terrace on the decking in the summer. In season the Tea-hut bar and cafe serves light food, snacks and refreshments throughout the day. We have a large marquee overlooking the Cherwell, as well as a lower boathouse area for private bookings and events such as weddings, birthdays and corporate entertainment all year round.
We are situated on Bardwell road just off the Banbury road. You can get to us: On foot just a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Different bus services run down the Banbury road every 5 minutes throughout the day. Taxis are always available and are familiar with the Boathouse location. You can cycle here in just a few minutes from the city centre.
