So, how does private dining work? First, you tell me who you are catering for. Confirm the number of guests, date, time and venue. I suggest you contact me at least two weeks before the actual day that you are planning for the event. You will also need to let me know what kind of food you would like to serve to your guests. Is there a particular theme? What's the occasion? How many course you want it to be? Is anyone allergic to anything? What's your budget? Too many questions? Don't worry, I have a checklist and will send this to you to complete. I will then create three different menus for you to choose from. Of course, if you have a particular dish that you'd like to serve, I'll be happy to cook it to your liking. We then meet to discuss on the menu in more detail and agree on other matters such as whether you would like me to do the ingredients shopping and how many hours I will need for the preparation, cooking and cleaning up. It is best if at this stage we can meet at the venue where the private dining experience will take place. I can then have a look at your kitchen and take notes on any equipment or tools that I might have to bring on the day. I will then draft a quote for you. As an indication, generally my hourly charge is £25 for a dining experience of up to 4 guests. There is an additional charge of £15 for each additional guest. So for instance, if I need a total of 4 hours of prep, cooking and cleaning up from start to finish and you are catering for 5 guests, my charges will be £115. This does not include the cost of ingredients for the chosen menu. Example of where my charges will be different is say, one particular guest require a different dish to the others on a particular course. If you would like me to do the shopping for the ingredients and hand pick the produce from trusted suppliers I know, I charge a fixed fee of £25 for this. Of course, you will need to pay for the produce too upon presentation of receipts. I will ask for £25 deposit beforehand. I can also help sourcing for drinks to go with the food. A larger deposit will be required. Once the quote is agreed upon, you pay 50% of my charges and the required deposits. The balance is due the day after the dining experience. On the day, I will attend your premises at the agreed time. I will start preparing and cooking to ensure the sitting down time is observed and the first course comes out on time. When the last course is served, I will start cleaning up. Once this is completed, I will leave you and your guests. I will email the invoice for the balance of payment due the next day. Please pay this by bank transfer within 3 days.
