The Nimitz Black History Club now is on Remind101!! For any BHC member or Fashion Show model not signed up, text @a670cd to 469-518-7574 as well as check our Facebook page for updates on everything we do!
The Nimitz BHCAC (Black History and Cultural Awareness Club) is currently putting our annual fashion show together and if you're interested in either modeling (open to girls and guys; grade doesn't really matter), joining the club or having a role in the show like cameras, lights and curtains, stay after school on Monday, Tuesday and possibly Wednesday and come to Mr. Price's room (2301 I think) for more details and see what's up! P.S. you don't have to be black or a professional model to be involved lol!
Today in Black History: (February 16, 1951) New York City Council passed bill prohibiting racial discrimination in city-assisted housing developments.
Black History Program this coming Thursday (2/13)!!!
The full story of today's "Little Known Black History Fact" that was told on the announcements; and there's much more where that came from! http://blackamericaweb.com/2013/11/26/little-known-black-history-fact-black-is-beautiful/
I'm not sure whether the Black History Club at Nimitz is much of a thing anymore, but I kinda wish it right now with everyone still there just to discuss what people thought of that show on VH1 called Sorority Sisters. Would've been quite the meeting....
Just to give an update on what's going on with BHC: the Fashion Show that we have every year didn't happen as it usually (I'm not gonna say "cancelled" cuz there's a chance it could still happen, just it'll be like a end of the year thing; working on it) and now we're putting together our annual Black History Program, centered mostly around the late, great Nelson Mandela (and rightfully so). We have some pretty good things in store for February 13, 2014 and I can't wait to see the finished results. I know it'll be great
Starting tomorrow and for the entirety of Black History Month, I'm gonna be sharing these things called "Little Known Black History Facts", sometimes on my page (Brandon Tyler Henderson) but primarily on here. These are just a few interesting facts in Black History that really go unnoticed (hence the name "LITTLE KNOWN Black History Facts") and all are pretty cool. So you look out for those cuz I'll be doing that every day during Black History Month on my page but primarily on the BHC page so you should look out for em! :) Thanks
