Description

CACC is Chicago's only open-admission shelter and the largest -- in 2015, CACC served more than 17,500 animals, including strays, owner surrendered pets, Court Case Pets, wildlife, exotic pets, and sometimes farm animals. Our goal is to continually increase live outcomes. Every day CACC officers are in the field rescuing sick and injured animals, picking up strays, and investigating cruelty and neglect. We also provide life-saving care and reunite pets with their families. CACC offers a number of low cost services, including once a month low cost vaccine clinics. We also adopt dogs and cats directly to the public and we partner with hundreds of Homeward Bound approved partners to transfer animals into their care for further rehabilitation and adoption.
