We will be open tomorrow, regular start time at 7:45. We are eager to see the Pride back in action! Stay warm.
CPS has cancelled school for tomorrow, so we will also be closed on Thursday, January 8th. Based on forecasts, they anticipate being back Friday but will announce tomorrow. Stay warm and safe! You can call 311 to locate a warming center if you need it. Several museums also are offering free admission.
As we do follow CPS on school closures, we are closed tomorrow for cold weather. Stay safe and stay warm. As of now we are scheduled to return on Thursday--if that changes, we will update it here.
As a reminder we follow CPS on closures. So far they are scheduled to be open tomorrow although Mayor Emanual has said they are looking at Wednesday carefully given the terribly low temperatures. Stay safe and warm; we will see the Pride tomorrow!
Happy New Year! We look forward to welcoming the Pride back on Tuesday! Make sure those break packets are complete and you are ready to ace your AR quizzes!
We know the suspense is killing you--we are thrilled to announce that we met 170% of our goal with $8,536 raised (including our first $2,500 matched!) We had support from 43 donors--86% of our goal! This was an extraordinary foray into the world of online giving and social media and speaks to the power of Pride and how many people are out there cheering on the hard work our students, families, staff and Board do every day. Today--on regular Wednesday :)-- the hard work continues in classes as 6th graders convert unit measurement, as 5th graders devour Joey Pigza and 4th graders conduct their secret science experiment. Thank you for all your support!
Kids all over Roseland are packing tonight as tomorrow the majority of them are headed out on End of Year trips. 4th graders will be enjoying a night in the Loyola dorms tomorrow, Maggie Daley park, Navy Pier fun and an IMAX movie as well as a trip to Dylan's Candy Bar on Michigan Avenue. Fifth graders will be enjoying the wonders of Milwaukee, staying at Marquette (guaranteed like 85% of kids will come with MU as their first college choice--Ms. Paul is influencing a lot of folks!), going to a lot of fun places and for many students enjoying their first trip out of state. This is a huge milestone our kids have been working hard all year for--and one that many of them will one day look back on and say "that trip was the first time I went to Marquette/Loyola--and now I'm an alum!". The Pride, staff and students alike, has been working hard all year and tomorrow is a chance to have fun and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Pride, pack up, make sure you have your toothbrush, try and get a good night's sleep no matter how excited you are and see you tomorrow! Remember you carry your own suitcase, so don't pack too much.
We are so excited to welcome our returning 5th and 6th graders tomorrow! You can tell from the pictures that the 4th graders and new 5th/6th grades are already doing a great work of working hard!
