The CHICAGO PERSIAN SCHOOL is a not for profit organization with no affiliation to any political or religious groups. Grants, donations, and school tuition are the mere source of the income. The registration and participation is voluntary and open to residents of greater Chicago metropolitan area with an interest in Persian language or culture. The main mission of Chicago Persian School is to provide a memorable and pleasant “Persian language” learning opportunity for younger generation of Iranian decent and any interested non-Iranian. Chicago Persian School does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, or ethnic origin in the administration of its admission and educational policies, and other school activities. Founders of Chicago Persian School feel very strongly toward promoting, encouraging, and fostering Iranian culture and heritage specifically through teachings of Persian language (reading and writing) and Farsi speaking, and generally through enrichment classes and seasonal and traditional events celebration. Extent of such enrichment classes are simply depends upon the interests of the participating community. Chicago Persian School is created with a hope of instilling a love of Persian culture and language in the new generation, a respect for Iran’s rich history and heritage, and an open mind toward all the various religious and ethnic ways of life within Iranian community of greater Chicago-land area. We: 1. accept students age 5 and up for Persian reading and writing classes and adults in Farsi as-a-second language (FSL) classes. 2. try to promote the cultural interests of the Persian Community by supporting lecture series, seminars, performing arts, musical recitals, and seasonal and traditional events celebration such as Nowruz, Mehregan, Yalda, and Chaharshanbeh Suri, etc. 3. try to establish contact with the similar organizations and Iranian societies for the purpose of increasing constructive interaction among the Iranian communities.
