Chicago Women's Health Center (CWHC) is a feminist health collective that was founded in 1975 to increase access to affordable, client-centered health care.

General Info

Our goals are: • To provide services in a manner that respects the dignity of each individual. • To make services available regardless of income, race, religion, or age including to people with disabilities, lesbian and bisexual women, queer people and trans people. • To provide an atmosphere that encourages people to be active participants in their own health care and to advocate for themselves as health care consumers in our clinic and with other providers. • To create a client/provider team approach in making health care decisions. • To provide a health care model that embraces the integration of alternative and conventional methods and modalities of healing. • To share information and promote preventive health practices in our clinic and through community outreach. • To work in coalition with other groups to identify key public health concerns and bring these concerns to the attention of policymakers.
