OUR VISION: To lead our community in eliminating the suffering of abused children. Started in 2008, through the unanimous agreement area professionals representing prosecution, medical, mental health, law enforcement, social services and advocacy agencies committed to work together and develop a co-located, child-focused facility to better meet the needs of child victims of sexual and physical abuse, neglect, exploitation, internet crimes and runaways. Over 2000 children are seen annually through the current system, statistics show that services provided by a co-located, multi-disciplinary team allows for easier access and more cohesive provision of services from the initial report of abuse through the prosecution of the case and beyond. Providing a flow of services that enables a more successful recovery of physical, emotional and spiritual health of the survivor of the crime and their caregivers.
"The purpose of children's advocacy centers is to provide a comprehensive, culturally competent, multi-dsciplinary team response to reports of child abuse in a dedicated, child-focused setting." National Children's Alliance
