Description

Child Literacy was incorporated in September 2005 to benefit children from under-privileged families. Child Literacy’s vision is to help build a better world by providing children of the lesser privileged families an avenue to build a bright future. To this end, Child Literacy has formulated a mission statement that keeps it inspired, has imagined a vision that keeps it motivated and internalized values that help it strive towards a better society. Further, to ensure access to a broader pool of resources, it has sought and forged alliances with organizations that are active towards similar goals. Child Literacy and its affiliates adopt a comprehensive and pragmatic approach to ensure that the lack of resources does not become an obstacle in the path of a child’s development. Our members and the members of our affiliates, who are trained to ensure effectiveness in conduct and outcome, identify the children that need intervention. Once such children have been identified, our members work with the children's parents, other organizations and schools in the area to provide the necessary support to these children. Our members regularly monitor the child’s social and academic development. Whenever help is needed, they step in to ensure the child progresses towards the desired objectives. Most of our members are local men and women who are well connected with local agencies. By focusing on specific needs of children in its areas of operation, Child Literacy is able to provide an effective solution to the problems of children at the root level. The ability to customize a solution for the situation has helped Child Literacy carve a niche for itself among social enterprises dedicated to the cause of child welfare. Child Literacy is owned and autonomously operated by its Board of Directors.
