I am a qualified Primary teacher, with a keen interest in Early Years. Based in Combe Down. I live with my husband who is a senior school teacher and our gorgeous daughter who was born November 2012. We have a st bernard dog, a cat some chickens and 2 ducks. I have a highly qualified, and fully experienced, occupational therapist as my assistant so your child will never be unattended or unnoticed! We love working with kids and now we have our own we enjoy working from home and bringing other children into our home to share in our fun daily activities. We love a bit of messy play and chaos in this house- I do encourage the children to tidy up (they are surprisingly good!). We always look to further our knowledge in Early Years and keep up to date with things, this keeps us on track with helping the little ones develop the best they can. I have a degree in Psychology and Health studies and a PGCE in teaching 5-11 year olds. Rachel has a degree in Psychology and in Occupational Therapy. I have nannied for many families and worked as a teaching assistant, Preschool room leader and worked as an elf in Lapland!. I ran a charity for a Tanzanian orphanage for a couple of years and spent many months out there with the children. We have looked after children with additional needs and are comfortable feeding via gastrostomy, using wheel chairs, working with challenging behaviours and emotional needs. We can use basic makaton and BSL/ASL too.
