Our mission is to introduce children to the transformative power of the arts by providing opportunities to make art side-by-side with working artists.

Description

At CMA, we give all children and families access to the creative tools that promote self-expression and esteem through the visual and performing arts. We honor the artist in every child through hands-on art programs taught by trained, working artists; through our on-going collection and exhibition of children's art; and through partnerships with diverse community organizations that celebrate life and the arts in New York City. In the Fall of 2011 CMA relocated to 103 Charlton which is three times the size of their old space at 182 Lafayette street. How To Get to Children's Museum of the Arts

GET HERE 103 Charlton Street, between Hudson & Greenwich Sts http://www.cmany.org/visit-us/ By Subway 1 to Houston Street. Walk south on Varick St, right on Charlton St. C/E to Spring Street. Walk west on Vandam, right on Hudson St, left on Charlton St. B/D/F/M/A/C/E to West 4th. Approx 10 minute walk. Use West 3rd St exit, walk south on 6th Ave, right on West Houston, left on Hudson St, right on Charlton St. By Bus M20, up Hudson St or down Varick St By Car From the east side, travel west on Houston Street, make left on Varick St, right on Charlton St. From the west side, take the West Side Hwy; exit on Spring Street, make left on Hudson St, left on Charlton St. There is street parking, as well as a parking lot on Greenwich and Charlton Sts.
