Chipmunks Day Nursery, in Upton St Leonards near Gloucester, provides "Outstanding" childcare and education for children aged from 9 months to 5 years.
Chipmunks Day Nursery is based within the former primary school building in the centre of Upton St Leonards. The former school playground provides off road parking to ensure the children's safe arrival. We also have two grassy play areas, a nature garden with potting shed, a vegetable patch, and a large patio for outdoor play. The children aged between nine months and two years are in the Ducks and Ducklings group, led by Room Leader Mel. They are cared for in a warm, secure and caring family atmosphere within which they can develop their social skills and the confidence to explore the world around them. The Cygnets are aged between two and three years and are under the supervision of Room Leader Sue and her team. Here they will begin to learn more social and creative skills and develop their independance. The children in the Swans room are aged from three years upwards and are taught by Room Leader Alice and her team. Children's individual needs are carefully planned for so that they make good progress in all seven areas of learning. All our staff are positive role models for the children at all times. Parents and carers are valued and respected members of our nursery and will be kept informed, consulted, involved and included at all levels.

Following the recent letter sent home in regards to the 'notification of increases in fee's', myself and I'm sure other parents would be interested to know what initiatives implemented by the Government have led to another increase in fees?

Thank you for all of your contributions to the recent food survey. We have taken on board your comments to produce a draft Summer menu. The new menu has been set up so that dishes aren't repeated on the same days of the week, so that all of the children will be able to enjoy a greater variety of food. Some of your many suggestions for meals have been included and during the next two or three weeks Emma, our cook, will be introducing some of the new dishes. Please ask your Key Person if you would like a copy of the menu.
We would like to welcome three new members of staff to our bank team, who will be helping us during our busy times. Shantel and Rosa will be with us until September, when they will both return to university. Jo is with us on a more permanent basis, mainly working in Swans. We wish them both well in their future studies and careers. This week we are set to welcome a new student, Rebecca, who will be with us on Thursdays until October.
