Chocolate Socrates chief concern is to free your mind: to challenge all it is you know, and question all it is you think you know. So that in the end, you realize you know that you know nothing. The hope is that you may pass this life, and enter into death. Without ever knowing what death is and without ever knowing what life is, so that whether dead or alive it is all one; because you have let everything go and you have let all things pass. Like wind and like nature, you became like time. Time is Ever present, ever powerful, ever knowing. You became an observer like time. One that does not exist, without relation to another. The Great Task I am tasked to perform the seemingly ordinary task of allowing each individual person within their society and any other society, the power/tools to free themselves of the prevailing thoughts of where they were born. To create an escape, a path, a way from the hegemonic (universally accepted truths of the time). And make way for the post-modern Tabula Rasa, the blank slate, in which the the great vision/aim of Chocolate Socrates, is to provide each person enough understanding/command over their mind/ thoughts to the extent that one is able to escape within their minds: one's present understandings, present societies, present worldview, at anytime for any reason. And never have to be able to think wrongly of oneself; be free from indoctrination and the damaging effects of it. Again this is to say that if indoctrination is the ritual like practice of putting one’s thoughts into actions and making such programming a livelihood/lifestyle, that should one free himself of such lifestyle/livelihood there exist too a ritual that can be programmed that can allow for such a person to be able to move freely within their new breath of awareness/ new breath of understanding. And enter a state of tabula rasa, blank slate. In which one is not held down in thought and made a slave in thought to any personal convictions, personally accepted stigmas, divisive powers and principalities(race, nationality, religion, etc) that inhibit their free exercise of liberty to think freely. In other words, one should be fully capable of accepting one thought over another without worry or uneasiness associated with the implications of coming to terms with a newer way of thought. The destination of Chocolate Socrates, is for the every day man, to be free from the persistent thoughts that flood his reason and intellect, in efforts to relieve each man of his philosophies which he made as a boundary before others, which have separated him from love. When man recognizes man not as a thing to war with but to love, because the philosophies that once persisted in them are no more. Then Chocolate Socrates will die, and his name will be no more. THE PROMISE A Utopia How beautiful it will be, a place away from it all- a place where there is no division- a place where the identity of each of us has not yet been shaped and defined. If even for a moment we can escape this world, let it be for a moment in this place. It will be a place where we possess ideas, but ideas will not possess us. We will have thoughts, but thoughts will not have us. We will know beliefs, but we will have no need of accepting them, we will know anger but will not know how to be angry, we will know poverty yet we will never be lacking. In this place, men of all walks of life, will come and visit, and discuss the timeless philosophies– (Matters of life and death, faith and certainty, culture, society, the fantastical, the beautiful, the grotesque, the unimaginable) And there will be no judgment, there will be no bias either; for HERE each person has forgotten who they once were, and what they were once named. Each person will simply hold thoughts, and the weight of each argument will be measured objectively. Till truth sets us free. It will be a melting pot of thoughts, from these thoughts we will make sense of each other in as much as we make sense of our world. This place we will create together, you and I, it will be as real as thought. In this place we will not see each other, but we will see philosophies. And we will not war with men, but with the philosophies that consume them. And when all that is done, when the war at last has finished, we will see each other as were born to see each other as. A thing to love. On this day, we will know each other as nothing, but will see each other as something. We would have created the greatest meaning, the highest purpose. Turning nothing, into something. Fiat Lux, like was done in the beginning. Then I’ll be home. Until then, I have no home. This place is for the wandering man, the man lost in thought. It is for the man whose reality, can never be known because it is his thoughts that made them real. The truest reality exist beyond our thoughts, we were not meant to see the vastness of the universe. We were meant to see each other as the universe. I wish to be done with thought, I forsake the tree of knowledge of good and evil, I do not want to be God. I want to be loved. Humanity is meant to be loved. We were to be love incarnate. What is Chocolate Socrates Purpose? Chocolate Socrates seeks to make philosophy the forefront of every conversation. If people create meaning in life, Chocolate Socrates demands that such meaning should be discussed before all other matters that weigh on the thoughts of any individual. This is to say that what gives a person meaning in life should be constantly reflected upon, questioned and understood. Accordingly, Chocolate Socrates believes that meaning is what defines reality. So long as we are re As a result, Chocolate Socrates believes that every person in the world is a philosopher who has defined for themselves how to live within the context of their world. Furthermore within the context of the world, Chocolate Socrates believes that assigning meaning is what allows people to define the kind of person they are or choose to become within the context of their world. In doing so, Chocolate Socrates provides a platform that re-defines philosophy as a thing to love and revere by providing a way for people to meditate upon their own philosophies- in conversation, by discussing the meanings any other person possesses in life that allows them to live the life they choose to live. This is to say that we each live our lives differently, we each have: our own stories, own opinions, and own perspectives. There is no one way to see things, or to do things. Therefore Chocolate Socrates believes that the only certain way to live, is to possess the ignorance of knowing that there is a particular way to live to begin with, and be willing to challenge whether one is living well each day. And ultimately know thyself. Chocolate Socrates believes that the examined life is to be revisited constantly, in conversation and dialogue. Discussing what is meaningful should challenge, who we think we are, who we really are, and who we want to be. Why does Chocolate Socrates care? It is a sad thought to know that the more we become "awake" and conscious of who we are, the more we feel less capable to sustain the current lifestyles we live. We have out grown our society, to such an extent that to live in it, is to be isolated from it. Because we no longer have a need of it. We the "awake" the "conscious", people do not delight in the state of things as they are. We want more out of this existence, we want to feel more, live more, smile more, laugh more. We'd rather be Alive than dead. The 9-5 job is not enough. The divisions created by race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, etc are such a bore, we are done being entertained by ignorance. How is it that, being aware of who one is should make one feel alone in this world, as if it is a curse to know oneself. This should not be, if this is how it is, we should create a new world or rather a better existence for those of us who have escaped. Now all is possible, in this life. All can be done, as all. We can set the system against itself, like how countries put their people against themselves by way of "civil war." Yet our war will be with thought, and our power will be in numbers, our tool will be money, and our advantage with money will be the uselessness of it till it meets our end. Chocolate Socrates celebrates the lifestyle of positive thinking and attitude. We encourage you daily to embrace the power of positive thinking and truly live each day being the change you wish to see in the world.
