Christa Dohmen is an artist who’s work has a lot to tell . Her stories are not one-dimensional and require empathy from the viewer. They ask for an open mind and wonderment so that way the viewer can travel along in the contrasts the work of Christa has to offer. Her work moves between extremes : from earth to universe , from male to female, from frames to freedom. Who looks well, sees and feels in the work of Christa Dohmen whatsoever that quest for freedom which is also a journey through life. Scars are visible and tangible. The frameworks and rules be eroded. More and more is omitted, because who omits indeed holds itself in its purest and most essential form? "I don't like pictures," says Christa Dohmen. "For pictures are limiting.. What I want is to tell a story. A universal story that is independent of the individual and that brings a connection".
