Clardy Elementary School was the ONLY school in the NKC School District to make the AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) in all 4 content areas: language arts, math, social studies, and science. Woo hoo!! What a great group of students, teachers, and parents! Many, many thanks to the teachers at Gashland for the simply AMAZING job they do with our youngest, for they give our students the essential skills and superb start in school needed to excel. Love the Gashland-Clardy school community!!!

Do you think you are "no good at math?" Do you think the way math is being taught these days is confusing? Do you wish you understood better? Would you be willing to attend a series of 6 classes so that you better understood how math is being taught?

Reminder: There's a new school supply list that is the same across the district. The district is providing the other items - paper, pencils, crayons, glue, kleenex, etc. The only things you should have to send are the items on the new list.

New tradition starting this year at Clardy: Outgoing 5th Graders will each get to ring the bell in the Courtyard in a ceremony celebrating their time spent as a student at Clardy. Cool!!

It's McTeacher Night at the Barry Rd McDonald's from 4:00-8:00. All proceeds go to buy books for each classroom at Gashland Elementary. Take a night off cooking and come see your child's teacher (or past teacher) and Gashland staff working at McDonald's. Fun stuff!

Thank you to Dr. Cox for forming the Parent Council this school year! Our last meeting of the year was held this evening. The Parent Survey results were discussed at length. If you would like a copy of the results, please contact the school office. There are great things happening at Clardy! If you've missed the Parent Council Meetings this year, we've missed you! Please do plan to attend at least one meeting next year.
